Guys let's not forget that the German Sky Sports do a fantastic job in Germany, seen some of there onboard footage and it is right up there with the coverage that the BBC provide.
From BBC Site "Touching messages of support on Twitter. Keeping some perspective tho, F1 remains on the BBC, and after news of 1 week ago, it's only sport. @jakehumphreyf1 34 mins ago" Get stuffed you lanky streak of p***!
i heard a couple of months ago that the average viewing figures for a race was between 3-5m. if these viewers boycott watching it on sky, this could be a problem for them; as seen with the news of the world, the fear of boycott was the end of the paper & not new corp taking the moral ground.
lol, i never like him presenting the show, he seemed to piss me off, as well as DC & EJ along with ever non-brithish driver.
I can't stream illegally, because i have mobile broadband, and very limited usage. I'm asking my mother to sign up for a virgin phone line, so i can get virgin broadband, which means i can then illegally stream races. Top up TV is too expensive, especially as i'm currently unemployed and on benefits.
On the Gunner's forums we publish the internet sites (incl SKY) just before kick-off. Suggest we also publish an F1 stream too, when the BBC are not covering.
At the recent FOTA Fans Forum at the McLaren Technology Centre a third of the audience said they would not follow F1 to Sky. That's a third of fairly hardcore F1 fans (hardcore enough to go to the Fans Forum). Potentially that figure might be nearer to 50% if the BBC are showing half the races until 2018. It might be a much bigger figure among less dedicated viewers. The problem is, because of the subscription arrangements, Sky can continue with these deals indefinitely because they're all subsidised by football fans, who never had league games on TV until Sky came along so never knew any different and wouldn't think of boycotting. Sky's profits are enormous so audience share isn't important to them.
Yes. That is my understanding. But they appear to have sold-out with this rearranged deal. After all, Bernie would rather have some BBC money than none at all. P.S. I have exchanged personal Tweets with Jake Humphrey - including telling him of my plan to trash the Sky box of tricks - in the hope that he gives the necessary feedback to his bosses.
that the issue with sky, its for some & not for all. in tough time like these, i know many who have cancel the broadband & tv. FOM has chosen money over the real interest of the sport & money over viewers what? half races on bbc & fully races on sky sports. last month bbc1 got 21% of the total uk marketshare for tv viewers, compared just about 4% of the toal sky channles including sky sports 1-4, sky1 & sky movies. lol
going down the SKY drain...... Boxing, Snooker, Rugby League, Darts, Cricket ..... next F1. STILL we will keep Eastenders.
So f1 fans, it looks like sky/F1 are pretty much putting a gun to our head to try and force us into splashing out hundreds of pounds a year to suit their pockets, so we can watch a sport that has been on free view longer than most of us have been alive. BBC have sold us up the river and I for one do not jump for joy when I see half the season only being shown next year. Jake has also opened his big mouth saying "it's just a sport" sorry Jake most people don't have your bank balance to afford 21 gp's let alone £600 a year... I for one cannot get sky sports and I'm very sure my old man will not be forking it out since unlike Bernie, money has been tight for the past few years and will likely continue towards 2014. Fuel, gas, electric, food, TV, university, little jobs.... Subjects that keep coming up in the news that screams out with families getting poorer. What the **** was going through their head when they allowed this to go through... **** Bernie, **** BBC, **** f1 and **** watching sky sports. You won't get a penny from me!
I am considering getting either Virgin Media or Sky to watch the races. It is very sad I have to pay to watch the whole season, but it was always going to happen, it was just a matter of when would Murdoch get his rights, and he has got them now.
BBC are however showing the race and qualifying in HD online for this weekend, as a trial. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9542651.stm
I have emailed David Cameron - HIS email is full !!!!! my MP, Top Gear, Martin Brundle , BBC etc etc ... keep the complaints going !!!!!!!!
