I hate this term. So many times I hear "if Spurs have nothing to play for..."

Well... We played Stoke on Saturday who had nothing to play for...
We play Chelsea on Saturday who have nothing to play for
We play Everton who have nothing to play for
Guess what Watford have to play for?

So are we guaranteed 9 points? As by my estimation Newcastle are guaranteed to beat spurs last day as they now have nothing to play for.

Let's just make the most if it. Beat Chelsea on Saturday and go from there!

7 points is the maximum we need to stop up.

Not going to be easy but it's still in our hands.

Spurs will now be missing about 4 or 5 first team players through injury or suspension. Looking as if we will be on the wrong side of luck this time

I think after that performance Spurs have something to prove in the short time left to them and Villa have no ex Newcastle players that would want them to stay up

Its utter bollox. Like they dont want to finish 2nd and are happy for their North London rivals to leap frog them.

People try and put 2 and 2 together and are coming out with 84.6.

Spurs have no affinity with the Mags (apart from owners know each other well). So yet another conspiracy theory evolves that they are gonna roll over just to save NUFC and **** little old SAFC.

    And some call Monty,mad.

These are default mindset of a Sunderland fan and you should know how often these type of unexpected scenarios evolve when we are involved - but ...... can also
happen in a good way -eg "our great escape under Poyet " - we need to keep positive imo

It doesn't look good, but that doesn't mean we can't do it.

The Mags are playing well enough/with enough belief to get at least 4 points, very possibly 6.

We need 7 points to make sure of it. A point on Saturday would normally be a good result. I hope we nick all 3.

Spurs will want to finish above Arsenal.
Harry Kane can be the EPL top scorer for the season.

    Roll over! No not IMO.

PS. Plus Villa will finally win a game.

How many seasons do we get into this situation hoping some other team will try their best and do us a favour.
Well we have, three games left and it is in our own hands, let's,hope WE turn up for,the rest of the, season, grab this opportunity and then we would not be bothered about anyone else, we've done it before so come on lads knuckle down and finish the job well.

Its so bleedin obvious Spurs will work their bollocks off to finish above Arsenal.

There's no way the mags are getting 6 points in their last 2 games.

That will most likely be confirmed by the time they play Newcastle...

So it will be a completely irrelevant game, for a team full of internationals wanting to go to the Euros a few weeks later... do you really see them diving into 50/50 challenges and giving it their all? I don't. Kane may be playing for the golden boot but I expect the rest of his team will ease off significantly.

I reckon 6 points for the mags from their last 2. Still leaves it in our hands though.

I was more worried this season than any other.

The last few seasons we've been the ones in perilous positions and those around us needed to just look after themselves. We did what was needed and the other teams obliged - this season we are solely reliant on ourselves. No-one else! That worries me!!!

Spurs will want to win at Newcastle, just a shame they will have a weakened team though.
Aston Villa will want to win, its their last home game in the premiership.
Sunderland will want to win their last 3 games to relegate the filth from up the road...........
and the filth will want to win their last 2 games to put us down.
Anyone's guess as to how its gonna pan out, its going down to the last game of the season for me.

The bottom line is that Newcastle are still ****e. IMHO, they are still marginally more ****e than us, so it remains within our hands to save our arses. If we don't, then tough titty. We have thrown away more than enough points to stay up and it'll be nobody's fault but ours.
