My understanding is that the OSC has a paying membership that includes bairns and pensioners, so I think they have a moral responsibility to represent them with their position; it's nothing to do with politics and everything to do with right and wrong. I don't know why it should devolve to the Trust, although I would agree it is a trusted organisation that gets results.
I could be wrong, but I suspect the answer from the OSC is that they are a social, not political group. If that's the case, I can't see any mileage in arguing against their position right now. The trust have stated that they are taking this issue on, so for me, the OSC is perhaps an argument for when there are less pressing issues.
It's a bit academic, as I suspect the OSC won't be around much longer, it will soon be run the club, as it pretty much is already.
We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one Dutch - for me, getting the membership scrapped is the ONLY issue for any supporter of Hull City; the OSC could come out against this scheme, they've done it before, they weren't just a social club when they balloted (and then ignored) their members on the name change issue?
I'm not arguing for or against the OSC position. I'm just voicing what I think is their position. If I'm right, I don't think there's time to get that changed before the membership needs sorting. I could be wrong on all counts though.
I do get your point Dutch, all I see is us needing as many voices against this scheme as possible - we lose concessions for kids we're on a slippery slope back to where we came from not so long ago.
I think we're in agreement on all except whether or not we have time to change the OSC position (assuming I've read it right). I absolutely agree that we need as many voices against it as possible. The trouble is we have limited time to do it, so need to focus on where effort is best extended.
When I posed the question about the OSC I had no intention of them changing their stance, I was simply curious as to what that stance is. I still am. I would also be interested to know how the current officers would view being a part of the club's infrastructure, should that happen.
Anyone who doesnt agree with this **** idea i urge you not to join I know every one has the right to join No one has to take any notice of my view I just hope lots will tell the club to **** off
