Shin splints are a bastard. You're either running 'badly' (ie over/under-pronating) in which case you need to look at your footwear, and/or over-exercising. No real cure except rest to be honest.

You've beat me there. I only managed 5 days.

Paramol are stronger. Tramadol are the best opiate-wise, but they don't sell em over the counter.

He's a toilet cleaner at a University that pretends he's something to do with science.

Delusions of grandeur. Typical jakey Celtic fan.

The doctor told me to take cocodamol to see if it helps with my constant headaches. Gave me a months supply, but the box says don't take for more than 3 days as it can cause addiction. Don't know whether to <laugh> or <wah>

If I was to add ibuprofen to my cocktail it would probably cause stomach ulcers

I'll sell you some of my amitriptiline <laugh> I've got about 10 full boxes in the house and they are a sedative as well as a pain killer. When I started on them I thought they were ****e because I couldn't feel any effect. 30 minutes later I was out cold and slept for 10 hours <laugh>

Try telling that to my wife <laugh>
She only has a mild dependancy, but they can get their claws into you if you take them for too long. They're an opiate after all.

    There's 24 in a box. I take 5 a night and can't sleep if I don't take them.

The doctor might get suspicious if I go asking for more <laugh> Although they probably wouldn't give a ****. Last time I was there he told me he would give me a line for as long as I wanted, just phone them up and they'd post it out to me or just send it direct to my work.

I had them a while back, ****ty astroturf really doesn't help. If they're mild enough, you can relieve the pain a little by extending your toes as far as you can, basically bending them backwards up towards your shins. Insoles will also be your friend, I suppose properly fitted orthotic ones would be best, but I got mine just over the counter in a sports shop, and haven't had any trouble since (although I do take care to avoid running on roads or other really hard surfaces whenever I can)
