  1. But we all know that would have been bollocks, Twisty.

The one thing that many of us find refreshing about Poch is his honesty. You might well find comfort being lied to by your manager, but that just shows that the two-faced bastard will stab you in the back as soon as he can; but with Poch, you know where you stand. That means, that when he signs a new 5 year contract, he'll be there for you for 5 years, mate.

    Think about that.

..and as he quite clearly states here, he was Captain of PSG and was called by his former manager and asked if he would like to manage PSG. His reply, 'yes, one day, why not'

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ted-manager-looks-set-sign-new-deal-2021.html

As he's just signed a new 5yr contract, 'one day' doesn't mean anytime soon...

Piss poor wummery, even buy your admittedly very low standards...

    Then there's this....

“I think the future is fantastic for Tottenham who have unbelievable supporters, a new stadium, incredible facilities and they can become a top club and fight every season to be the top club.

“Whether they can achieve that is different, but it is important early next season to fight for it.”

Pochettino claims he made the announcement about his contract to end speculation about his future with reports linking him to Paris St Germain and Manchester United.

But he also did it to make sure his players know exactly how committed he is to Spurs – and to help attract the right kind of signings this summer.

Pochettino, who insists he had no other offers on the table, said: “I think it is a good time. It is important that we are not wasting time with rumours and different things.

“I think of course we are responsible to show we believe in the club and then we show we want to keep all the big, important players. They are important to our future.
“The players want to stay here and bring this club to the new stadium and play in the Champions League. It is a collective objective.

“I think it is important for the players and the potential players that will come that they don’t hear rumours about whether Pochettino will be here or not. I think that is very important.

“We are ready to compete in the market and try to add the players that can help us in the future. Not that we need much because we have a good squad already.”Pochettino insists he asked for no assurances from Spurs chief Daniel Levy about how much his transfer budget might suffer from the new stadium investment before agreeing his new deal. He said: “I not need assurances. I didn’t ask for anything. In the moment that the president wanted to extend my contract he showed his ambition.“The players are very happy here. I want to be involved in the future of the club.”

But I'm sure Peskie and his new toy boy, Tricky-Twisty, or whatever he's calling himself this week, will find some other way of interpreting it...

' I am fully committed to the staff, the players, the club ' - Mauricio Pochettino, Jan 2014. 4 months before he left Southampton to join Spurs.

    Don't tell me, it's different this time ? <whistle>

  9. Let me give you a Sun-style sound-bite, then, Twisted...

"Pochettino is going no where soon, and thinks that not only will be keep all our top players but that Levy has the ambition to add more. Poch expects to lead this Spurs into our new stadium, and that we can win big things under him."

    There you go, mate.

Of course Pooch is going to come out with a load of platitudes that Spurs fans want to hear as he negotiates the best deal he can for a new contract, standard stuff really. I can understand why Spurs fans are gullible enough to take it all at face value as they've had to endure the humiliation of 12 different **** ups in the hot seat since Wenger transformed Arsenal into the trophy laden kings of London, but Pooch told Southampton that he was 'committed to the staff, the players, the club' right before he shafted them too. What makes his words even more hollow is that he obviously wants to be at PSG in the future, so at best Spurs fans can console themselves with the fact that they are a stepping stone to Pooch's 'dream' club.

  14. Pixie knows, deep down in his heart, that whilst Poch is manager, Arsenal will never finish above us. And that's if they manage to keep Wenger in place!

If they lose Wenger, they'll struggle to finish above Chelsea - or even the Spanners.

Speaking of power shifts , and maybe a bit off topic but how about
Derby vs Aston Villa .......19 points ?

  17. I think we can always discount the first season a manager is in charge. That's why Klopp has been let off lightly this season. If he manages nothing better next season, he'll get roasted by both fans and the press.

Who gives a **** about the last 20 years?

Football is played now. Right now we all know which club is where. It does not matter how much Piskie and his pikey mate try to convince themselves, not any Spurs fans, just themselves about how things are to feel better about themselves.

    Yawn.
