Wasn't Medina more highly rated than Julio back in Argentina though? I've often wondered what went wrong there. The same with Marcos Angeleri, Paolo Da Silva, and Cristian Riveros. These were all internationals and rated as good players in South America. Yet they came here and barely made an impression. Was this poor scouting and they weren't suited to English football? Or was it that the club didn't do enough to help them settle in England? The same with Nacho Scocco more recently. Why is our success rate with South Americans so low?
