Wait until he's told the transfer budget Uncle Joe has allocated for next summer.

And, of course, an almost unlimited budget guarantees you success!...<whistle>

All wumming aside (because you're one of the easiest to wind up on here :) ) Stan does have a point. Spurs, to their credit have a small net spend and like to follow a model where they only spend money that they've generated from player sales. So do you think Pooch will be given any significant money to strengthen, unless he makes sales first ? And who do you think he'd have to sell ?

You seem to think that by simply batting your blatant wums back at you that I'm wound up. I'm having fun, I assure you!

There will obviously be a limited budget due to the burden of the new stadium. However, the new a TV money, plus whatever we may get from CL football will be a big help.

Fortunately, and thanks largely to M.P, we have a young, strong, and talented squad now. Yes, it needs reinforcing in one or two rather obvious areas, and I'm sure that will be addressed in the summer.

That must be comforting for you to think that you're batting back my wums :) The rest of us just watch you getting yourself into a proper little pickle Anyway, the TV money will help and you'll get a revenue stream from the CL, but I'm not sure it will be enough to sustain the strengthening you'll need to properly compete in the League and CL. Also as you mention you've got the burden of the stadium to shoulder. Make no mistake, that will be a millstone for a number of years and could have a serious impact on your ability to buy players.

By 'the rest of us' you mean you? Or in your fevered imagination, anyway.

I think we will buy far more wisely from now on. No, that wouldn't be difficult. However, MP has done wonders with the squad we currently have. It only needs a few additions to complement what we already have.

  10. "it is important for all to know I believe in this club"
    (Pochettino)

Notice the language used, lads. It is very deliberate.

I believe that Poch has aimed this comment at the Pixies of this world, and other (more sophisticated) wumsters.

We all knew that Poch was going nowhere soon, but he clearly understood that us Yids were being taunted by embittered Arsenal, 'Pool and United fans, which is why he decided that "it is important for all [of those bitters] to know" that Spurs is where he wants to spend the best part of his career, helping us to build a footballing empire.

In an instant, the great man has put a massive halt to the chucklesome taunts of worthless wumsters. Unlucky, Pixie! Seems that that's another avenue of wummery permanently closed-up to you.

You'd have a point if Pooch hadn't also said that it's his 'dream' to manage PSG and that he sees his 'future' in Paris. :)

Meh.. Pooch said it's his dream to manage PSG so you need to deal with it.

He was asked if he'd like to manage them 'one day' and he said 'yes, why not'
If you read his statement, he clearly states that he's signed the new contract now to quash any speculation about PSG.

Not that I expect that will stop you trying to continue wumming about it.

Fanciful narrative, but he was asked if he wanted to go to PSG and he went into some detail about how he saw his future there, how he'd love to be at a big club like PSG and how it is his dream to manage there.

He could have just said, 'maybe' if it wasn't a big concern of his, clearly though he sees his long term future there.

"I've always said that I would be pleased to join a big club like PSG," Pochettino told French radio station RMC. "Come to Paris? I hope so. It is true that it would please me. It's part of my dreams. I try to watch all their matches, especially in the Champions League.

    Spurs = Stepping stone.

I'm not trying to "wum" (cringiest phrase ever) anyone.

Just pointing out what Pochettino said as NSIS seems to be remembering it differently.

  19. Every manager in football will have some other club that he'd like to manage, if he was given the chance, and it will usually be the club that he was most associated with, as a player. You could ask every manager the same set of questions that Poch was asked, and you'd get exactly the same story - "One day I'd like to go back to [insert name of favoured club]."

It's a meaningless and pointless story, designed to created some intrigue where there is none, and stir the **** when there is no pot.

Only dreadfully poor wumsters would cling to such a story for any kind of comfort.

Not really. I can't imagine many managers being so disrespectful to their clubs fans by talking about "dreaming" of managing another club.

A simple "who knows what the future holds but right now I'm happy" would have done.
