That was a different scenario, I agree that they were crap performances but the play-offs are 2 **** or bust games. Keeping your powder dry is a sensible option.
If Derby were watching today they'd have seen us lose in the exact same way we lose away games all the time under Bruce. He's talking bollocks when he says it was the players playing within themselves ffs. No one lacked effort it was just yet another crap 1-0 away where we don't create anything and it's all the defences fault for conceding the 1. I said on 60 minutes that we'd lose 1-0. It was obvious because we've seen it so many times in the last couple of years. Bruce is full of crap. We just don't know how to attack. We get good players and they come here and suddenly can't create chances. It really obviously isn't a lack of effort it's a lack of good attacking football. In the first few months under Bruce we played some great stuff and again in the first few months of the second season. But since then we've been utter **** going forward.
Steve, is it not in your contract that you shouldn't post on forums like this. You talk bollocks on the radio, you don't have to do the same here.
Not a phrase I would associate with SB, ha ha, so I guess objective achieved! If he has any tactics, and game plans, whether it be a, b, or c, he does seem to keep them well hidden, wish he would share them with the players sometimes!
Please explain why all the top teams all employ scouts/spies to watch upcoming opponents and study teams and individuals by watching hours of video if they all know everything about each other. Things change within teams and players form dips and rises.
Was that supposed to read " Steve, it is not in your contract that you should post on forums like this." or "Steve, isn't it in your contract that you shouldn't post on forums like this?" ?
You're preaching to the converted, I agreed with you. For instance Michael Dawson might turn into a gold medal worth Olympic sprinter, and Hernandez could hve grown to 7'6 by the time the play offs start. Let's not give them the chance to find out shall we?
SB does right to rest his key larkers, as it's our 3rd game in a week, and he knows what they can do. He was right to give Lenihan a go (when should he give his debut? In the play offs, ffs? ), and to rest the apparently easily-tired Hernandez who has found his shooting boots again. Right to rest Robbo too, and to give Chubby a go so he's can find some scoring form. It's not looking good for Chubby. A Jay Simpson type career beckons, not a Fraizer Campbell type one.
It's the same old negative **** ****s I'm afraid. "Round up the usual suspects" as Captain Renault says in the 1942 classic 'Casablanca'.
I kinda think it was sensible of SB to rest our best players for the playoffs. it was a nothing game. were guaranteed a place in the top 6. we need our best players to be well rested. Bolton are already down. Good luck to em in League 1. imagine how much you lot would moan if SB didnt do that
If you're honestly going to cling to the faint hope that Derby will have no idea which team we will play or how they will play, you're in for a shock.
Imagine if we'd played Patrick Hernandez and Robbo and they'd both picked up knocks, all the armchair managers would have been up in arms "Unbelievable- Bruce plays his best team in a nothing game and guess what? they get crocked. What a dickhead. You can bet other teams in the playoffs will be resting their more important players. Typical Bruce, ffs" etc
