True. Boro keeper is proper shoddy, couldn't catch a cold, that's 3 he's palmed out into middle of the goal now and been lucky that Birmingham player hasn't been able to put rebound away

Boro were robbed last night. That offside decision wasn't even close, Ayala was a good yard on. I'd be interested to see the background of that lino.........

The Arsenal manager is still spitting poison about everybody and everything apart from him being responsible for Arsenal's stagnation.

Arsenic Whinger would be a more appropriate name for the ranting Frenchman.

He's become a parody of himself of late. Shame, as he was a genuine genius years ago. Now he's just become a stubborn, belligerent old fool.

He was the only manager in Europe not to buy an outfield player last summer.

They had a pot full of cash to spend and a blind man could see they needed another striker, a CB and a defensive midfield player. If he'd have added 3 quality players in those positions they could have well won the league this season. But the more people said what they needed, the more he dug his heels in.

    Yup.

I think parody of himself is an excellent way to put it.

A blind man can see they are soft and can't defend. With ozil sanchez and carzorla he just needed a couple tough players but he is I don't know what in the head.

Deffo never get a better chance to win league.

At least when lfc ****ed it they ****ed it on 84 points and city deserved it cos they won 10 in a row twice in season.

This year I don't think one single team has win 5 in a row from the top teams. Spurs and Leicester have been handed cl without a fight

Leicester might win it with 79 points or could make it respectable 85 though I doubt it.

The rest won't break 75 points. City and arsenal might only scrape 70 points but they might race for 3rd and auto cl group spot.

Utd 5th. Chelsea 9th. Lfc hoping 7th is enough for Europe.

    It really is shockingly poor.

I was saying on the PL board that if this had been the state of the big 4/5 clubs 8-9 years ago, the spuds side under Martin Jol would've been up there around top 2/3. The league has been pretty poor competitively. Leicester City are the only ones who have done it through their own making.

I have heard in the past that all referees are bent. So its no surprise they are favouring Brighton.

Leicester winning the PL is great as a wake up call for the PL

"Big clubs" can't take for granted that their money will bring success, now all PL clubs are big in comparison with the rest of the world

Recent big money players like Di Maria, Falcao (twice), Sterling show you can spend **** loads and get little in return

The PL might be run by racist and sexist ****s but the collective bargaining keeps it the best league in the world

Hopefully the quality can increase next season but without the gap between the top and bottom increasing

Real, Barca, Bayern will remain major powers, especially since most weeks are just training games for them which is hard to compete with, but in the next few seasons the PL should dominate both European competitions

You're contradicting yourself yourself though. On the one hand you're saying spending large amounts doesnt mean success but on the other hand the PL will be stronger than the rest bcos we'll have more money to spend.

Imo the problem isnt the money being spent, it's the tired, lazy approach by many of the big English clubs who seem to think if you spend 30-50 million on a player it means he will be a ready made success.

Big clubs will always be held to ransom but a decade ago the quality they spent their money on was far better. And that leads me onto my next point. A decade ago any of us could name a dozen quality players in every position (fullbacks, CBs, wingers) out there across Europe to spend that money on. Now there really is fck all. So when ppl talk about spending 50m on Sterling it shows just how little choice there is out there. What that means is the big clubs should do the hard work, like the likes of Leicester City or West Ham in finding those gems out there. The trouble is, the pressure for success means few want to take a risk on a Mahrez or Payet.

This is the point we agree on, money doesn't guarantee success

De Bruyne is a good example of a lot of money for a lot of player

But you have to be intelligent not just "Sterling has some hype right now with a manager who's nurtured him, let's spunk £100m+ on his transfer/contract and it'll all work out"

Also TV money means clubs like Everton don't need to sell their (over)hyped players any more so it will increase the competitiveness and need for intelligent transfers

“I call my role a blind job because people don’t notice the work you’re doing,” says Borini. “I feel a bit like Thomas Müller at Bayern Munich – they pick him because he does a lot of blind jobs, which makes things easier for everyone else.”

Yeah, ok mate, you're exactly like Thomas Muller <laugh>
