Good morning from a wet Jersey. The rain was heavy enough at about 2am that it woke me up and looking out of my window, although it's not as heavy, I think it hasn't stopped since then.
Morning all from a bright and sunny rural France. An early start today, but it should be good to have the sun on my back after I get back from topping up the wine store.
It seems that the shaking of the house that I mentioned on Tuesday was an earth tremor with it's centre a 100 miles west of here. It has caused quite a stir in the local press, reporting that the nuclear power station has been checked for any damage, but all is well there. One gentleman nearer than us gave an interview. "I was sat on my toilet, when there was a violent shaking and vibration beneath me. I did not know what was happening, so as I live on the fourth floor, redressed quickly and went down to street level."
Good morning all from a cold, dry Weston-super-<are! Have a good day and good luck to your Golden Boys!
Good morning all. Getting prepped for the end of an era thanks to the Pozzo's kowtowing to the corporate £££. Just about my only real criticism of their tenure, they have completely f*****d up my home match routine of the last 15 years and driven away three (five, actually) season ticket holders of over 20 years standing. The condescending phone call my friend got from the ticket office asking why he wasn't renewing ("...have you seen the letter written to SD?" "yes it's in front of me" "then why are you asking me these questions?" was the final straw - you'll get the gist: a box ticking exercise by the TO by someone with neither the wit nor the authority to resolve the problem... he actually made it worse. So I dare say we're going to be pretty bladdered by the end of the day. For the wrong reasons, alas.
Morning all from a cold but sunny Jersey - we have our annual boat show this weekend but I'll be avoiding it as it's not something I'm interested in. Not long ago, I went and did a bit of shopping. The shop in question has it's door on the corner, which is difficult when someone else is trying to get in and someone else is trying to get out at the same time. I had that situation when leaving, but when letting me out, the person concerned said "Go on, buddy". This should really be posted in the Rom 101 thread, but I hate anyone calling me buddy if I don't know them.
Reminds me of an older work colleague who earned himself the nickname "King of the West Wing Thunderbox"! Morning all We are earthquake-free this morning, in fact it's a pleasant balmy day after a couple of chilly ones with overnight frost. Almost cut the grass, but coffee and newspaper seemed a better option. Maybe end-of-seasonitis is setting in.
No, he wasn't. Apart from those who have been on secondment here for work, I've seen very few visitors from North America in my 20 years living here.
OK you lovely people, I'm off to bed! Being taken out tomorrow for a birthday meal so I may not be around much! Night all Night H
Morning Dave... down to the wire at the bottom now..... Newcastle on a roll...... and Sunderland grabbing a point
Morning all from a sunny Jersey. Looking at the end of yesterday's game, and the potential effect going into the Liverpool game, scoring 2 late on to win the game is better than coasting at 3-0 then conceding 2 late goals. Liverpool being 1-0 up after 90 minutes against Villarreal wouldn't be a bad thing either.
Happy Birthday Dave, I hope that yesterday will not spoil your meal. Have a very good day with great company. Bright and sunny this morning after a wet afternoon yesterday. At least I could watch our game without wishing to be outside.
