And even if it was true...and even if the buyer was some mythical perfect owner...what next after them?
I wouldn't sell my house to someone just because they told me that while they owned it they'd let me stay there free

In many different situations, it's often more revealing to look at people's actions, rather than their words.Sometimes people even delude themselves.

Actions speak louder than words, as they say.

I have said from the outset that their ownership has been nothing but a failed property development strategy; the 'gift to the City' was simply a convenient PR claim that has backfired spectacularly. I haven't seen anything yet to make me change my mind. Actions and words have both been their consistent failings, yet folk still give them credit for something that was never their genuine intention, just a poorly thought through business plan dressed up from the Emperor's wardrobe; amazing how some saw the same clothes they did.

In my opinion, that's overly simplistic.

Some of their actions and the outcomes have been okay, but when they get it wrong, they do so spectacularly.

Eh you seriously thought no one could see they wanted money?

What do you think a new owner is going to buy the club for?

Twist it to suit your character, if you must, but the thing you deliberately ignore is the property development point. Their given sentiments were just a good old fashioned lie, which they continued by their words and actions to come. And on it goes, hey, Chazz, one of the biggest Allam apologists on this board. <doh>

Whereas I have always thought folk over complicate it. Some good result was inevitable, but totally secondary to their real objective.

Given it was a minor sideline, they hit lucky with a few bits getting us into the prem etc. which as many clubs will testify, is hardly inevitable.

Before anyone suggests it, no that doesn't give them the right to do the other bits.

    I don't think that's a fair generalisation.
People against it, overtly, tend to be simply people with a good moral and ethical compass IMHO

    What are you on about.
So what is a new owner going to buy the club for? Simple question?

    I would imagine many are
I also imagine many people who protested about the poll tax also paid it
    Why is that relevant?
