This Saturday sees the publication of a special edition of AKUTR’s totally dedicated to the man voted QPR’s greatest ever player, Stan Bowles.

The stunning list of guest writers show just how loved Stan still is, QPR alumni and celebrity fans including: Gerry Francis, Gordon Jago, much beleaguered former club secretary Ron Phillips, partner-in-mischief Don Shanks, Les Ferdinand, long term programme contributor Michael Wale, Stan’s daughter Tracey, John Byrne, ex-Home Secretary Alan Johnson, broadcaster Robert Elms and one-time Sex Pistol Glen Matlock. Professional writers such as The Guardian’s Ed Vulliamy also reflect on their memories of Stan, as do a number of the regular AKUTR’s contributors.

Not does it promise to be an excellent read, but a substantial donation from the proceeds will be made towards Stan’s future needs. Further details of other fundraising initiatives for Stan and how to obtain a copy of this special edition by post will be available on www.stanbowles.co.uk shortly.

I will certainly be buying one
    Rodney bought me to QPR
But Stan made me a lifer.

Must admit through in my wine addled brain ( not had a good day).... I thought the thread initially might be dedicated to our own sb...the originator of our Euro referendum thread...and other intellectual minefields

I'd better get one I suppose.

Have you read the new Robert Harris book yet? Up to the standard of the previous two?

How could you not? Apparently Gordon Jago writes about how he stole Stan from under Crystal Palace's nose - I never knew that!

I've not read Dictator yet; it is sitting on the side while I finish "The Lady from Zagreb" by Philip Kerr.

I never have the time ( or more possibly the inclination ) to read the matchday programme or AKUTR's. I'll make sure I get a copy on Saturday and will definitely read it. Nice one Roller.

Whatever happened to Michael Wale - he also used to do the London Tonight sports as well as the programme?
