We didn't show Poch enough love apparently, lets make amends with some love on the 8th as we wipe away their remaining hopes of securing the EPL title.

Sorry, just got home & its been at the forefront of my mind since I had a conversation with an Arsenal fan today. He was fairly pleasant to start with, but as I was telling him Poch would be off in the summer, news broke over the radio. of the new deal.....ouch timing....then as he walked off he said he thinks Arsenal would be in for Ronald. I didn't manage to get anymore words out......luckily! <grr>

I honestly don't care about people who leave. I am interested in those who stay. If Ron went to Arsenal, he'd be someone else's to love - but at least he wouldn't poison the team before he went.

One day we will find a manager who just falls in love with the club and stays a long time, but it might be a long wait.

MP could have said he was leaving as soon as he knew to the powers that be . He IS a brilliant manager, and I hold no grudge against him or Spurs .

Man, I envy you little football hippies, wish I could just embrace the whole community no matter how they act, must be really rewarding watching the Lovren's & Bogarde's swanning around like hero's.

Not for me, never wish ill, but keep a wry smile for an occasion.

He ought to join the board of Central Coast Mariners then, because I hear they've just appointed one of them as an advisor!

That's an incredibly narrow reading of the financial consequences of winning the title. For one thing, how many Leicester players prioritized a big bonus for winning the title in their contracts, I wonder.

Beyond that, a title win has enough cachet to boost their commercial income for quite some time...I'm not sure that a second-place finish would have quite the same effect.

Yes, I thought all that too, hence part of the reason why I put it up for people to look at. It makes a huge amount of assumptions. We already knew that Leicester didn't have any planned post-season celebratory events going on, so why should they have factored in title winning bonuses? There will be game win bonuses in all of the players contracts, but title winning? I shouldn't think they will have bothered. No doubt someone will tell us that ALL teams have title winning bonuses factored in.

Quite short-term I thought that specialist was looking.

And even if they have them, those win bonuses (and on the other side, the difference in merit payment between 1st and 2nd) are going to be vastly outpaced by other expenses and revenue windfalls. I'd imagine we're talking maybe a couple million pounds in contractually-obligated bonuses? They'll spend many times that this summer in agent/signing-on fees alone tying down new contracts for the stars, so why aren't we talking about how they'd be better off finishing 17th and not needing to deal with any such nastiness?

"Sports finance" sounds a bit like "quantum physics". ie. basically nothing to do with real physics.

I'd like to see his advice on other financial matters.

"Reduce your housing costs by living in a dumpster!"

"Save thousands a year on expensive clothing by going to work naked!"

"Reduce household costs and open up a new revenue stream by selling your children to cannibals!"
