Thats fair enough but by half time it was clear to see they were there to be beaten and he shouldve been more positive with changes, playing for a draw only plays into their hands as all they need to do now is not concede/score away. he ****ed up plain and simple. also as a side note i think that was probably the straw that broke the camels back with studge not getting on, especially when he sticks tekkers on ffs, pure insult imo, doubt studge will be here next year tbf
The Sturridge absence for the whole game was very surprising. I was in a pub with a family member (by marriage, not a blood relative) who goes to about half of Liverpool's home games. Her view is he's not going to form part of Liverpool's future. Of the assembled Mousers, only a couple disagreed. I can't see him forming part of a Mauricio Pochettino team Arsenal? He'd fit in there.
its quite simple for me - in europe you score goals away from home 1st and foremost, a 3-1 loss away last night imo is a better reslut than 1-0 loss with no away goals. i get his tactics to start the game with, it made sense to set us up to play tight, but we had them in our pocket most of the game and offered zip in terms of an actual goal threat so he missed the there by bringing on tekkers ffs, studge a litteral goal machine when fit sits there thinking wtf and i dont blame him i was thinking the same. klopp got last night very wrong imo, not with our set up just with the negativity of late meaningless changes is what annoyed me most, fair enough if we'd lost to a better team, but we ended up losing to a **** team (on the night) and the fact it was clearly obvious we needed a proper striker on the pitch from 60mins onwards has peeved me slightly. #kloppout
i cant see him wanting to stay if "cant score wont run" benteke is getting the nod ahead of him. if klopp wants rid then fair enough ill back that as much of a fan i am of studge, we'll get bloody good money for him im sure. i doubt spurs could afford him and the goons aint got room on the physio table
I'd certainly start Sturridge in the return leg, assuming he's fit. He's one of the Prem's top 2-3 strikers when fit. You never know if he's got a small niggling injury and Klopp didn't want to risk him. But then decided to take the risk as he wanted the goal.
He's played 2 games in the last 3 years (possible slight exaggeration). He doesn't play through injuries. He doesn't work back. He's on £150k per week. Shock us. What do you reckon he's worth?
Think you will win the 2nd leg by the required 2 goals, and the final with Sevilla could be great a game
we are more than capable of it for sure, especially after seeing vilareal last night they're not even half the team that dortmund are. We usually do better at home when we are underdogs so thats a plus out of last nights smash and grab, i dont think we are out by any means just pissed off as i see last night as a missed opportunity that was avoidable and totally self inflicted
You made the point better than me. I'm not that upset by a harsh interpretation of violent conduct but challenging the ref in any way should be completely outlawed and subject to massive bans.
Colin , Vardy got the extra game ban because he bloody well deserved it for what he said to the ref but I hope and trust his wife to be will put him in line ! To be honest and it's not a defence, I think at times he struggles to come to terms with where he's come from to where he is now ? Remember Ian Wright when he was a bit raw ? One thing I won't castigate him for is Diving because that (Unfortunately) is today's football and it was happening week in week out to us last season along with very dodgy ref decisions ( Liverpool away springs to mind when Morgan conceded a penalty for a diving , headed clearance ! No, I reckon they learned from their previous naivety to becoming Prem savvy, hence the sudden change in fortune ? Ps , glad you got Poch sorted for another 5 years .
You can't expect refs to give correct decisions at Anfield. They're upholding a tradition. £50m for Sturridge! That's a wild claim, even for you, Sucky.
I think Luke's right. For a fit striker of his ability, yes. But he ain't much use laying on a treatment table....
