The agent of NEC star Anthony Limbombe has told Sport Witness that there is a possibility his client could end up in England. The 21-year-old looks set to leave NEC in the summer, and has been linked with a move to Leeds United. Speaking to Christian Negouai, we asked the question about Leeds United’s reported interest in Limbombe. Negouai said somebody like Limbombe will be the focus of clubs in England because of his ability, and therefore a move could happen. Negouai also pointed out there was interest from other clubs in Europe, and a move to another League is another option. “A very good player like Anthony certainly interests English clubs, so he could leave for England, just like he is of interest to clubs of other leagues, where he could end up too,” said Negouai. This week we covered reports from Holland that Leeds United were still interested in Limbombe after missing out on the Belgian last summer. The Championship side tabled a bid for the youngster which was rejected by NEC. However, NEC are struggling financially at the moment, and could accept an offer this summer, but Leeds United will face competition from Lille and Ajax. Reports earlier this week, that Limbombe has agreed to sign for a unnamed club already, would appear to be nonsense.
