Eldest son went to the boxing last night, he managed to wangle a seat in a corporate box...lucky bleeder! Mind you, he has just got over a very nasty chest infection caught whilst working 18 days on the South Coast repairing the power lines brought down in the last storm - so, well deserved!
Well done Danny Willett. Second Englishman after Nick Faldo to win the Masters. Held his nerve when it mattered. Nobody wants to see a golfer implode as Speith did, except in the Ryder Cup perhaps, but I am pleased that Danny kept his cool and played his game. Thrilling.
Took advantage of Spieth having another nightmare on a couple of holes (as he did a few times over the 4 days when well ahead) Been a pretty solid and consistent player for a couple of years so well done to Willett.
I had people here so miss the 10th 11th and 12th. Then the 2 hour highlights was 4 guys just chat about it plus all the interviews .The BBC and SKY cover sport so much better then here in the USA
Watching the IPL - one of the 2 new teams, the Gujurat Lions are playing. At least the orange pads of the Dutch cricket team goes with their kit!
Is Steve Finn trying to become an all-rounder? He got 22* off 26 against Warwickshire, hitting 2 fours and a six and got the majority of a last-wicket partnership of 37.
Not been a good week for British cycling...with help from Aussies. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/36166128
SARACENS ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE A fantastic effort. Seven Owen Farrell penalties to three. A sensational performance by both sides but ultimately Sarries were stronger in the tackle and forced more errors. Brilliant to watch, the only thing missing were tries for both sides.
First of a double maybe? Fully deserved and a wonderful team effort built around a lot of England players so when I read people say its "South Africa B" that surprises me - they must be bitter.
Are Sarries still around? I thought that they'd gone bankrupt because of the excessive rent we were charging them which enabled us to build the SEJ stand. Or maybe I'm wrong.
Saracens beat Exeter Chiefs 28-20 to win the Premiership title having already finished top of the league. How's the cricket going?
Well their 2 world class players have retired and I think the rest have about 30 caps between them. Plus it's England in May...with Anderson and co on form. No wonder they question these tests matches..
You can forget all your Comptons and Roots When the star with the best attributes Is a much bigger winner That Sri Lankan spinner He's fatter than our Bolton's Boots
Mention of Compton makes me think that his next game could be for the Middlesex 2nd XI as he's been poor for Middlesex and England this season.
Not a great boxing fan and he had been ill for sometime but still sad to hear the passing of a sporting great both in the ring and off it with his personality. RIP Muhammad Ali
