Allen should have buried that after 5 mins. Lallana was on side. Fine margins. But I very much doubt we'll have ANY fear of that team at Anfield.
Not here to take the piss but do you think that this is an ok result? Losing 1 nil can be a tricky away result but used to be seen as a half decent result in European football.
I think Liverpool will score 2 , just keep it clean and your off .. Tough luck guys but overall you guys look pretty good . Maybe lower the bar a tad on the team and manager , we all make mistakes ..cheers
There was a bad feeling around the club then. Too many off field distractions with Benitez' future in the balance and Hicks & Gillett stinking the place out. This is a totally different scenario where we have an united set of players and supporters all aiming for the same goal with Jurgen Klopp leading the way.
no is a **** result becasue they were there for the taking, klopp dropped a klanger with not bringing on studge imo - hes on form and is one of our few players who can make his own goals, but nope we got ****ing benteke ffs Summary : **** result
I don't think the result is too bad. Obviously the last minute goal was a bit of a sickener but 1-0 is pretty easy to turn over. The only doubt is whether our defence can actually keep Villarreal out for 90 mins at Anfield.
Makes me wonder if Klopp actually wants Sturridge, leaves him out of big games yet plays him in dead rubber league games. Is he just keeping him in the shop window until summer?
dunno tbh, i dont get the decision to bring on benteke when studge is there, read into it what you will
Lads calm down ffs Its HT, get them back to Anfield and being a goal down means we have to go for it. Lets have Studge starting please, we'll be fine
It's a weird one...dunno what's going on fitness and relationship wise but can't see Klopp playing management games in a semi final..especially one that's our best or only chance of CL football. Just think he expected a tougher opposition and planned for a disciplined performance...then took to long to react to a team that looked below par...or at least not as strong on the night as he expected. He got caught in two minds...too late. Lessons learned and on to next game. Then do better in second leg.
Not sure who they were but two players gave up running back with the goal scorer ......terrible effort in the midst of danger
Will say one thing on Sturridge..think it's very clear that Klopps coaching team see very limited minutes in him. His injury record does support this. If so, then we need to target to replace him. Not saying sell him first. He's great on his day but one way or another he's not a PL winning striker based on his fitness.
Can you collect the data from every 2 legged tie from the last 50 years and find the statistical evidence, please?
Off the pitch I have to say there were two crazy emotional managers out there tonight, mad as cheese the pair of em
