Follow the time-honoured Liverpool UEFA method : don't lose away, win at home.

Alli did not punch Jacob for marking him out of the game, he punched him for continually marking his legs. Jacob should have received a caution after 10 minutes.

I wouldn't say any of the Leicester fans have been rude or insulting since coming over, annoying perhaps but nothing else. As has been said by a couple, it's gotten stupidly repetitive over recent weeks and I haven't exactly helped that issue myself by continuing debates with AK, Mick and occasionally Fosse but I do feel the Leicester fans who are continuously coming over need to understand and appreciate that they're on an opposition's board who evidently have just as strong views about things as they do but ultimately being on the Spurs board, their views will never be accepted by us on certain matters. It then got very silly when we were being accused of having an agenda just because we disagreed on different topics.
Ultimately Spurs fans on here have been extremely complimentary towards Leicester and I think that's been completely ignored somewhat due to the petty debates that have taken place on individual matters that really shouldn't have taken up more than a page, yet have caused numerous threads to derail from the original subjects and occasionally resulted in sly digs from both sets of fans.

What needs to be understood by all is:

We're not going to agree on styles of play, so let's leave that there.
We're not going to agree on who's the better CB, so let's leave that there.
We're not going to agree as to whether Vardy deserved his booking(s) and whether Huth should/ shouldn't have been sent off at times this season, so let's leave that there.
Spurs fans DO congratulate Leicester on their superb achievement, don't let the minor debates confuse that and stop with the ideas of an agenda because there really isn't, debates and disagreements doesn't mean there's an agenda, just a differing view.

In my opinion the Leicester fans are more than welcome over here just as any opposition fan is, I enjoy speaking and debating with fans from different teams but I do feel that those coming over onto this board should think carefully at what they post because if it's seen as derogatory towards our club then we'll respond assertively, we'd expect the same if we done similar on other team's boards. <ok>

Ultimately, the very fact our sides are the top two is a win for football over the usual big boys. Any other time I and I'm sure every other Leicester fan would be rooting for you. It's understandable that it's difficult for you to have seen your side play out of their skins for weeks/months and not be on top as it was be devastating us if you pipped us. It's a testament to both clubs that we are in this position tbh. I enjoy looking at the comments but yeah it has got repetitive and it should be a case of agree to disagree, congratulate each other on great season and laugh at the big money clubs failing!

    Sorry Buddy,
No doubt you realise I disagree ? Though I promise I'll do one after 11 pages <laugh>
I said in my last post that I went onto your close neighbours board and there was banter/wumming from various Spurs fans on a par/worse than anything AKCJ or myself have expressed here !
You should see my Facebook page it has been riddled with the proverbial ****e from many footie fans ( since January, 99% Spuds :1980_boogie_down: ) some of whom maybe members of these boards ?
Having read a lot of what AKCJ has written over the years I can vouch that he really does enjoy debating any issues relating to football and will defend his beloved LCFC if he feels criticism unjustified but that said at the end of the day it's all about opinions, what offends one individual is probably water off a ducks back to another ?
Let's agree to disagree eh ?

    Well said.

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone was saying they're offended, just a bit bored of it. There's good banter and some good chat but the point I was making was that some of the conversations have become pretty tedious.

We all run our boards differently. Chelsea mods like to allow pretty much anything *cough* and then go missing when their team turns to **** *cough*. Arsenal mods do what they want with theirs. Whilst we don't allow abuse of users, or anything else that tends to derail threads. The average Spurs user doesn't want to click on a match thread and have to sift through pages of mudslinging, or arguments over something completely off topic. It's not a case of "not being able to take it" or being offended(thank you, @AKCJ ) we just don't want to drive away our members who come to talk about Spurs.

    As I said, speaking personally!

If I go onto another team's board ( rarely) I do it to make a serious contribution to football debate. If I went there to Wum, or to make negative comments, I'd expect to get some abuse. You don't come onto a team's board as a very close rival and start making negative comments in the middle of a match thread. And, in a match that wasn't going our way.

If he didn't expect some abuse for that, he's very naive, to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He got sent off for behaving like a thug (again). There can be no excuses/mitigating circumstances. His behaviour let the club and himself down.

Come on, O.S, Yes, he's let us and the club down. But he's 19 yrs old - still a kid really. Yacob had been niggling him for most of the game and he reacted stupidly. Hopefully, he will learn from this.

More worrying for me were Pochettino's comments that seemed to almost justify what he did. As an ex defender himself, and an Argentinian one at that, he should be explaining to Alli that he can't react to deliberate provocation on the pitch that way.

With that background, you expect him to be roasting Alli for getting caught and not even getting
Yacob sent off in the bargain. :)

    But Spurcat is right.
We hold Spurs to higher standards then the herd, and say so long before the event.
As it was long before Bales' diving antics became media fodder, so it is with the season-long
incidents with Alli that have built to mondays' antics.

As I said, better to get it corrected now before it becomes Beckham-esque.

I agree he let himself down and there is no excuse for punching Jacob but I was disagreeing with AKCJ as to why I thought he punched Jacob, not defending him.

He's a kid. I'm hopeful he will learn. But, he needs guidance, not what sounds like quasi justification.

It was pretty dead until fairly recently. It's since been adopted as a banter board, basically.
I described it a while ago as Not606's no-man's-land. Pop your head up on there and it may get shot off! <laugh>
There are some similarities there. Both happy, jokey characters with a slightly petulant and angry edge.
Both capable of doing things that are beyond the capabilities of a lot of their peers, too.

You can point to a number of others that haven't had that issue, though.
Most recently Bale and Modric, I'd say. The former had a diving issue, unfortunately.

I'm not getting into a quarrel over this one, I just feel the player hasn't a leg to stand on here. He was not overly provoked, but he most certainly over reacted. And we all know it's not the first time.

Undoubtedly Pochettino don't help with his "observation", but Pochettino, like Alli, didn't really have a good evening on Monday.

Fair enough. If he does it again, I'd certainly agree with you. But Pochettino needs to sit him down to a serious talk about what he's going to face in his future career, or most of it's going to be spent sitting in the stands.

This summer. And his first CL campaign next season.

One thing I have liked this season is the pack ethos in fronting up to perceived
snideyness by the opposition on Spurs players. Kane notably. Dier too.

Pity we have no Robbo-esque players in the ranks. :)
