Plenty of takers for the job IMO, Pellegrini down to 2/1 and Moyes moving further out.

Howe is coming down and reports are that Hughes is in the frame FFS!

Wish I stuck that cheeky £5 on Jose when he was 60/1, don't think he will get the United job while Charlton is at United.

He can fight all he likes, but he's already been given the thumbs down.

The decision to throw him to the lions has already been taken, but it seems they're intent on giving him a dignified execution.....

However, the crowd wanted blood this week. So it's an error of judgement and could lead to an unseemly showing if we play like drains on Saturday.

Given the injuries and the claim that he's lost the dressing room, makes that more of a possibility?
Feel sorry for both him and BRodge, likeable enough guys, want to play good football...
    But..
1 - They both talk too much.. with a 90/10 bullshite content..
    2 - They both can't setup a defence worth a damn..

    They are Anti-Simone's

Every player who has shown zero effort want to feel the hate from the fans too. Picking up £1000's a week and hiding behind the manager takes some guts.

But the Goodison crowd can be a fickle beast, booing Naismith then crying about his departure. Wanting him sold when Moyes left to being sad to see him go!

    I don't.

Martinez is a pig headed egotist. Who put his own wretched 'philosophy' before winning football matches.

He's shown exactly the qualities that made me think he was a goon at Wigan, and why I never wanted him as Everton manager.

Season 1 he had the benefit of a well drilled side who were defensively solid. He added some flair and a £28m striker (albeit on loan at that point) and the combination worked very well in the main, and were very unfortunate not to get a CL spot with 72 points. I had to eat my words at that point, as I thought I'd got him wrong.

However, since then his lack of emphasis on defensive drilling and work rate has brought an inevitable slide. We're capable (as Wigan were) of turning up and putting in a very good performance - every now and again - and often when the opposition don't bring their shooting boots. But more often that not sides pick us off on the counter or take advantage of our ****e set piece defending (he doesn't practice defending corners, as he thinks it's a waste of time). I realised last season that my original thoughts on him were indeed correct, and I've wanted him gone ever since.

For me he should have gone before Christmas, but the LC SF saved most calling for his head on a spike. But since then even the FA Cup run hasn't been enough to stop the vast majority seeing him for what he is now.

8 home defeats this season - 8 ffs!

Firstly, the crowds reaction to Martinez is far from fickle. We've become completely disillusioned seeing the same tactical ineptitude on show week after week. If we were the kopites or any of the other sides (until recently) we considered as our main competitors in that league, then we'd have been calling for his head on spike ages ago.

As for the players. Look at our stats for how many goals we've conceded in the last 15 minutes of games this season compared to previous ones. The increase is frightening. It yells out that there's a lack of fitness in that side, and the inability (or unwillingness) to chase and close down the opposition is largely down to his tactics and their fitness levels imo.

That said, I think it's obvious to a blind man that he lost that dressing room a while back, and whilst I would never condone players tanking, it happens to the best of them - see Mourinho for details.

Mourinho is crap though. 95% of his tactics is "spend more than the opposition, put most of the men behind the ball, get in an early injury on the opponent's most influential player"

Martinez: "I understand it completely. I never felt being Everton manager is a manager to be judged in an average position.
I encourage huge expectations. As a club we have to drive for silverware and top four, and when you aren’t there the scrutiny needs to be there.
It shouldn’t be scrutiny of the last three months but instead the last three season.
It’s a scrutiny of the squad we have put together and scrutiny of how we play against the top teams.
I wouldn’t want to be judged on the ninth budget of the league. I want to be under scrutiny of being proud of being Everton manager."

<laugh> he just called his players #bottlers and "didn't blame" the lack of money

He is right, no player bar Barry and Robles deserves any credit this season.

    Nope, just don't rate him

If Pellegrini or Mourinho went to Everton I wouldn't be in the slightest bit #worried about Everton challenging us in the short term (during their contract) or in the longer term (they'd **** up youth development for the next decade or so)
