You know very well the reasons why we should never be ahead of you, as has been pointed out many times - just today by PNP.

I think you should look at how, not only Spurs but Leicester too, are way ahead of you.

Well, you're just proving my initial point. As I've said, given that we've had such a poor season and Spurs have had their best one since Stegosauraus was roaming what is now North London, there is still very little difference between us this season. I think we have a huge margin to improve, whereas you seem to be playing at your peak.

The fact that it will be such a momentous occasion for Spurs to finish above Arsenal, tells it's own story to be honest. I'm not even trying to wum, this is simply an indication of how much you've been living in our shadow. Even if you manage it this season, you still have a huge amount to prove year on year to demonstrate any sort of power shift.

Oh, cut the bollocks and stop trying to be so blatantly evasive. You're fooling nobody!

You know very well all the reasons why we should not be ahead of you. Despite being a smaller club, with nowhere near your budget, we've been slowly reeling you in for a few years now.

Maybe you should be concentrating on your own failures instead of trying to belittle our achievements?

    <laugh> Calm down Doris.

Like I've said, we've had a poor season by our standards. You've had a great one by yours. Therein lies the difference.

I'm not sure why you're getting your knickers in such a twist about it to be honest. You said it yourself, you're a small club who have had a better season than Arsenal. It will be the first time in 20 years, so it's a pretty much a one off in the modern era. Doing it year in year out, whilst winning league titles will be the measure of any power shift.

Yeah, right. You've stood still for years. And, yes, a presently smaller club has been slowly catching you, and will soon overhaul you.

We won't be the only ones, if you continue to stagnate!..

I don't doubt that we've got areas to improve upon. But we've also just won back to back FA cups, a trophy that you've not won since 1991. Even in our lean years we've still achieved way more than Spurs. That's the point really, as some have pointed out, we're a bit of a sleeping giant and maybe Wenger's time is up. But Arsenal are a huge club and it shouldn't take a huge leap to propel us up where we belong with the top clubs in Europe. It great for Spurs fans that they are having a good season, but as I've said, even though we've had a poor season, there's still only a few points between us and it's still not certain that you'll finish above us.

Yes, you've won the FA cup. But you've not come close to a league title, nor progressed in the CL. it's years of stagnation!

You should achieve more than us. Your budget, expenditure, wage bill, etc, are all way above ours.

As I said, we've been slowly creeping up on you for a few years now. That should be a cause for concern.

There are no guarantees in football. You could just as easily make the same case as you have about Arsenal and Spurs, between Spurs and Leicester. You have spent far more than them, expenditure, wage bill, transfers etc etc and yet they are about to beat you to the league title.

What makes this a good season for us is that NOBODY would have expected us to be challenging for the title until just 3 games befoe the end of the season.
What you say about Leicester is true but you can magnify that ten fold re Arsenal imho.
You have won back to back cups so you have a team with experience and you have players with immense international premier league or the top spanish league and international experience, while we have a largely young inexperienced team. With city, chelsea, Liverpool and united having terrible seasons to varying degrees EVERYONE would expect Arsenal to have been the champions or at the very least, the main challengers.
You may well come above spurs as the inexperienced players may let their heads drop...that is to be seen over the next 2 or 3 weeks...but when the season is assessed in the cold light of day it will have been deemed a good effort by us but for you it would have been deemed a terrible February onwards. Beating us to 2nd place will only paper over the cracks imo. To go from joint top ( 7 points ahead of us) ahead to 4th (5 points behind us) and 12 points behind the leaders in 12 matches is really poor. Its not been a poor season as you were well in the hunt until late january and even when you beat Leicester in February. ..it has though been a diabolical last 12 to 15 matches and no amount of pretending we bottle the title can change that fact.

For Leicester, it's just one season. If they can repeat anything like this season's achievement, you might have a point.

There are 3 ways to go in football. Up, down and stagnate.

Spurs are on an upward spiral. As football fans that is to be enjoyed, unless you are a plastic who doesn't understand football or really don't have anything else to live for.

    Which one is Arsenal?

Trying to hide your clubs failures by belittling others achievements smacks of desperation and a failure to accept the truth. Small minded attitude.

Er..no, it doesn't! As I've already said, and you keep desperately trying to avoid, we've been reeling you in for years now!...

As Spurlock says, trying to divert attention from your failings by belittling those of others is a poor smokescreen!

... Ooooh presumption :) ... what makes you think it's any more likely to be a one season wonder for us than for Spurs?

Leicester finishing above Spurs this season: "Oh it's a one off"

Spurs finishing above Arsenal this season: "Oh it's definitely a power shift"

What's presumptuous about it?? It IS only one year that you've been anywhere near the top of the Prem. Conversely, we have been on Arsenal's tail for a few years now.

Whether you can repeat this year remains to be seen, as I have clearly said.
