Morning all from a very bright & sunny Bandit Country - thick frost on the car at 05.45 this morning! Busy few days coming up - have to drop Little Miss W_Y at Bandit Central airport at 04.00 tomorrow as she is off to spend her birthday in Berlin and then should be spending the rest of the day helping #1 son move into his new house. However, he has come back from Portugal a little under the weather with Tonsillitis and a heavy cold, so we might have to postpone by a few days
Morning all, it is bright and sunny here in France also, and there was a little frost overnight in the field across the lane. Long list of jobs for me to try and get done before I go on holiday in two weeks. Just as I have to prepare to leave things in a manageable state my daughter needs some help with her house restoration. She is hoping that she and the family might be able to move in for Christmas, but there is still a long way to go before that is possible.
Strange weather up here - blue skies and sunshine at 6 o'clock turned into a snowstorm around 9 o'clock, poured with rain an hour later and now the blue skies are there again... I had a pleasant surprise this morning - had to ring an insurance company as our tumble dryer was making a god-awful squeaking noise. Expecting a date/time for a repairman, you could have knocked me over with a feather when they told me they would replace it with a new one.
http://yournewswire.com/france-passes-law-that-allows-toilets-to-be-installed-in-kitchens-video/ The things you stumble across. This should add a certain piquancy to French cooking...
Had another job interview today - I've no chance of getting this job as I haven't slept well the last few nights and a bit of hesitation and not really being able to think of answers came into play.
Morning, Dave; morning, all. Wake up to find snoring kid next to me - where's me Mrs? Teeth grinding, farting, breath like a polecat's backside... The child, that is, not my wife.
Morning all from a bright, sunny and very chilly West West London. Frost on the car again this morning had to be scrapped off. Slight change of plans as the house move is now tomorrow, but still dropped daughter at the airport at 04.00! Long week-end will be most welcome - along with 3 points against The Villa!
Good day all.. .....body hurting now from physio and exercise... still waiting on x ray results on my hip... but fingers crossed i dont need a new joint Very tired still after the 8 hour plus driving on the w/e plus two broken nights this week. Getting old! Was offered a free ticket for Villa ( Thanks Hackney) but just too tired.... a course in London tomorrow... then taking my mum to Croydon next week to stay with my sister whilst Mme and I do our Norway cruise just need three points on the w/e Odion to get a couple COYH! COYH!
Morning all Bright and sunny this morning after an odd day yesterday...a brief snowstorm then thunder and two lighting strikes overhead which briefly affected our power supply. The horses in the opposite field went crazy for a while but seem calm enough now. Finally resolved our ongoing dispute with BT over their corroded cable affecting our telephone line. I ended up contacting the CEO, Mark Patterson, and in the end we got a very generous response...compensation and incredibly cheap broadband and phone for the next 12 months. It does pay to persist with and carefully detail a complaint sometimes!
Morning all, dry and mainly sunny here. Not sure what it was at 9.00 am this morning, but it felt like a very mild earth tremor. Certainly it made some bits and pieces rattle. Very strange. Car has been serviced in preparation for the holiday. What a performance to change an oil filter. You have to take the under tray off, have a special long reach tool to free the old one and when it does finally arrive in view it is no larger than a tennis ball. Then there were the side light bulbs that had blown. A rubber arm is required to reach them. How on earth you would change them at the side of the road is beyond me. Maybe that is why you see so many cars driving around with just one light working.
I had to take the front end off a Clio to change a headlight. Air con unit obstructed access and it was the only way.
Probably French, my experience with a Renault headlight was the same....mind you changing the side light of #2 sons Honda required my slim-like hand to get access to the bulb!
