I know kenny, but it has to be said you do need to find the back of the net at somepoint. I would be suprised if deep down lambert is not happy about failing to score against league 2 opposition. Though, at the end of the day its another shift put in and fitness levels go up a tad more. Lets wait and see what happens at coventry on saturday!
Speaking of Coventry. Anyone see the clip on SSN of Jimmy Hill singing? And we have had stick in the past for stuff Delia has done.....
Score is unimportant. Run out is important. Lads are getting strong and when they have to prove it, they will. They won't go 50% on southend. If they do the coaches will slaughter them. Got to build slow and peak and Wigan Giggidy
Last season we got the same result against Stevenage in pre-season, all the 'we're rubbish' crowd became very vocal and look what happened at the end of the season.
I doubt Ward would have been first choice CB, but Vaughan could be a bit of a loss. Bring Cody back off the transfer list?
Ward and Vaughan injuries increase competition I seem to remember a striker missing PRE-season and doing alright for us last season...
holt does not need to play all the games before the season start, the main thing is he is fit and ready for the wigan game as he is our main striker
Not sure what to say on the back of this one. Following the goal fest I think my expectations were for better things against a league 2 side. However, as rightly pointed out it is only a pre-season friendly and I do believe (if memory serves me well enough) that most of our better seasons have normally followed a not so good pre-season! (Every cloud and all that....)
Morning Thai, I also seem to recall that the season we dropped to league 1, the pre-season that year we beat all and sundry!
Hi Dave, I think you are right. It was some years ago I stopped getting overly concerned about friendlies for that reason although it was usually good to go to home games against Arsenal, West Ham etc when were not in the top flight.
You should read some of the comments at the bottom of a few of the EDP24 articles, the amount of negativity there is unbelievable!
