Young England U15s went down 2-0 to Qatar, highlighted only by our goalie Hammond (apologies to him, I don't know his first name) saving a penalty. Bring on Russia - need to win that one to qualify for the semi final.
The youngsters managed a credible 1-1 draw with Russia, so no semi final. However by finishing 3rd in their Group they do get a go at a play off for overall 5th place.
Better news for the Fulham lads in USA U19's team. Luca de la Torre played the whole game and Marlon Fossey a half as they beat Ukraine 2-1. Looking at Marlon (No.2) I'm guessing it was a bit windy (Luca is No. 10). please log in to view this image
Cheers D : ). Quite unusual both are goalies. Not to mention young England Internationals. And a wee bit unusual as well for the Club to have two sets of brothers on the books - the Sessegnons and the Hammonds.
Fulhm's Zico Asare played in the U15s play off game against USA. It ended 0-0 at full time but the youngsters lost out on penalties. Quite a tournament this though - they keep going and now have try for 7th or 8th position in a match against Croatia on Sunday.
Both the Fulham lads - Marlon Fossey and Luca de la Torre - start in the USA U19s game against Russia. please log in to view this image
