I've already explained myself clearly mate, he's guilty of taking a banned substance - the end. His motives for taking it, knowledge of the substance being on the banned list etc etc ad infinitum, are irrelevant to his guilt. Ignorance isn't an excuse to an athlete, simple as.
Here you lad, take these to sort out that fat arse of yours. The odd punters died taking them like....but you'll be sound
Waiting for club/player/testers statement before passing full judgement as there are various circumstances under which he could have taken it ... 1. Knew what he was taking ... thought feck it, took it anyway knowing he might get busted ... very stupid 2. Knew what he was taking, knew it was banned, thought it wouldn't show up in a test for whatever reason (e.g. bad independent advice) ... very stupid 3. Knew what he was taking, thought it was permitted, got caught out ... unfortunate but very stupid for not taking it to the club doctors 4. Didn't know what he was taking, i.e. given to him by the g/f ('the Kolo move'), mate at gym, saying this will help, took it without seeking advice from club doctors ... very stupid 5. Didn't know what he was taking because he didn't know he'd taken it, i.e. spiked ... come off it, spiked with a fat burning pill FFS In short. He should have taken any supplement he was going to use to the club doctors for full analysis, unless he was being sneaky and had something to hide. Why wouldn't he do this? Because he knew full well what he was doing and that they would say don't take this it's banned. Again, why would you not get the product looked at by a professional well-versed in the banned substances list? Maybe he'll try and come out with the I didn't think about doing that or there was nobody around when I had the pills with me line, but that won't wash at all, because even if he says his intentions were not dodgy they were utterly stupid, unprofessional and have jeopardised the club's prospects and the name of the club. Fully deserves the ban coming to him
Of course it could be that in the years since the club got Dunkin Donuts signed up as sponsors they've had to implement a player doping scheme of only fat burners, the size of which rivals the Soviets doping program during the 80s #blamedonuts
prob very fair this. They have entire supplement stations like salad bars ffs. they literally have everything they could ever need. If he felt he'd a weight problem did he talk to the doctors or to the french national team doctors if he felt under presure at LFC? We cannot know yet. but for me with everything thats goes on in a modern football club setting to be going solo is utterly astounding to me. Especially if you've access to a national team set up to actually get advice FFS.
You can agree and sign a contract that says you will be paid £2ph, means **** all though as its breaking minimum wage laws. Like I said I don't know for certain, but in theory you'd be employing someone, not paying them but not allowing them to leave your employment and move elsewhere - pretty sure that's what bosnam rule came in to effectively stop (albeit for different circumstances).
He's dead, in my book. Sell him in the summer or sack him. Totally. not worried about the transfer fee. Really has gutted me become I loved his spirit and determination, and also that he's the only defender on our books at the moment who can remotely defend a set-piece or corner. Whatever ever happens in the next month, even if we win the EL, he's ruined my season. Dickhead.
He could agree to accept a fine equivalent to 6 months wages then, in return for not having his contract revoked and being sued for £18m....
Then the £18m lawsuit might kick in.... I doubt the PFA could defend a bloke who didn't want defending
If he's not prepared to go quietly I'd give the ****er £18m to go away. In the words of the old headmaster joke about to cane a pupil "This will hurt me more than it hurts you". Sure there's some sort of accountancy wheeze to write some of it off. Double standards, of course, as we employ Toure. But we knew what we were employing in Toure, and it wasn't us he ****ed over, it was City, and hopefully there's a clause in hos contract re this. But there's no excuses for Sakho he knew (or should have knew) all the bases. The loopholes are now closed. He's a 'professional' and needs to act like one. You've broken your contract - **** off.
Whats with the lynching? if hes made to serve a long ban (more than 6months) then we will have to get rid for footballing reasons and not some bollocks about how hes shamed the club ect not from me anyway.
You're trivialising a really important issue. He's a professional on professional rewards and conditions who cheated. I've known station cleaners who've lost everything for doing less. He can **** off.
