The verdict has been given after all the evidence has been examined, so in my opinion it should be accepted...Hopefully the relatives of the victims can now move on..
I also hope that the Police officers that were involved in the cover up/falsification of evidence (if what I've heard about that is true) are 'taken to task' and dealt with accordingly
The jury sat listening to 2 years of evidence. They've been considering that evidence for, I think, 2 months now. They've made a decision. I accept it 100%. Not sure how you could do otherwise after all that time.
The CPS will now look at those who might be culpable mate. Not only in the cover up, but on the day itself and the issue surrounding the out of date safety certificates for the stadium itself. The JTF96 campaign was more about today and righting the wrongs of the lies told to cover up the ineptitude on the day though, as opposed to wanting retribution.
Look Billy - it was an opinion based only on what I have heard and read about in the past. No offence was meant and seriously no need to be so insulting about it. @Tobes - apologies if I have insulted you or any of your friends/colleagues but I was going on what I have heard and read in the past. That is all I base my opinions on and I will leave it at that.
The majority have genuine sympathy with the victims and support the JTF96 Campaign - only a pity it's taken so long to get the matter settled
Would anyone mind if we close this thread? I'm just aware that emotions can run high on this subject and I just think we should nip this in the bud before it goes much further. Its not up mods to dictate on this at all and I realise we all have freedom of speech. But in this one instance I feel we should maybe show a little sensitivity as well as ensuring not falling out amongst ourselves.
I hate to see threads getting closed to be honest.. Opinions are like arseholes in that every one has one and they differ enormously..
This thread is embarrassing. Do another if necessary... the subject deserves better than what's unfolded. It's not about who's right and wrong, it's not about that today.
That's the problem in a nutshell mate, and the reason why the JTF96 campaign have spent a generation seeking to ensure that the truth is heard. The S*n article from the day after still has people believing the lies that were spread as part of an organised cover up of the actual facts. What happened that day could have happened to any of us. We were in the other semi final that day and if we'd have been allocated Hillsborough then it would have been us.
We played Sheff w there and drew 2-2 about 1988, and the ground was the same but we had no bother getting etc in but we were there about 2 hours before kick off, what is wiered is I stood at the place were some Liverpool supporters were crushed, Notts county away I was nearly crushed on a big metal crash barrier once and at Wembley, I like seating if you ask me.

Yes I would. Who made you Pol ****ing Pot like?[/QUOTE] Fair enough Billy. Just thought I'd ask. It's your thread.
I'm not letting Blunham take the rap for this, I PM'd him telling him the thread is an embarrassment to the board, if you've got any issues take it up with me and not him, he's just a mod doing his job (who happens to agree with me).
No sexist or racist comments on here so can't think of why it should be banned...If you don't like what you are reading just ignore the thread...
But I agreed with your sentiment which is why I asked the question. As I said, we can't dictate, so I asked the question. Its Billy's thread though and it stays. RAW's also right about ignoring it.
