Didn't Shane Warne try the 'It was my Mrs who gave them to me' routine? And why the **** would a spin bowler who fields in the slips need endurance help? Pure ****ing vanity in his case, as has been proven since he retired and shared botox sessions with Liz Hurley. Best goddam bowler I've ever seen in my life though. ****. (Warne that is, not Hurley).
Bit on Sky about Sporting Integrity's founding director saying how she feels that fat burners aren't actually performance improving because of the effects they have on the body.
yeah but.... they are blockers and blockers are banned... like the vicks... anything thats blocking other more harmful and performance enhancing drugsa re banned. you know they are banned and you face the consequences. The only thing someone should be saying is if you test for a thing that in itself is not enhancing and could be medicinal you should be then on a heightened testing scheme where you have to submit bloods weekly for a year or something some such rule... i think a skiir got done for vicks or something in winter olympics no? I think in shakos case though.... hmmm..
I like the lad, gives his all, at times can be a world beater, at times couldn't beat an Egg! Best case scenario is he gets a 6month ban, if so, he'll be available October, if its a 2 year ban, can see him being dismissed by the club.. Wasn't certain we'd need another CB, given Lovern's up turn in form, Matip on the way and Gomez who could be the 4th choice, but I think we'll be in the market for another CB now. There's no one to blame for this idiotic mess other than Sakho himself, if he wanted to take these pills, he should have had the hindsight to speak to the clubs medical team first or lay off the fatty takeaways!
That'll depend on when his case is heard. He's currently not banned. If it's not heard until June, then it'll likely be the end of November until he's back.
True.. But we only get to a hearing if he pleads innocent? If B Sample is also +tive, he should not fight it, plead guilty, hope for a lienent hearing and be back for the end of the year, assuming its not a longer ban.. Either way, I think another CB will now be bought in over the summer..
How is that relevant to my argument? Endurance is the CORE attribute of cycling & middle distance running, it is not in football. Players with low work rates like Ibrahimovic, Le Tissier, Berbatov etc. would not thrive in cycling & middle distance running with their lack of effort, but they do in football, because running around a lot isn't a necessary attribute of a good footballer, its just a helpful one.
one thing that has always got me about the doping rules is the sheer hypocrisy take a normal cold remedy and you could face a 2 year ban but ne unable to play due to injury in heel causing too much pain and the doctor slams a ****load of painkiller in you to allow you too play (see Maradona) but apparently it's not performance enhancing
A pain killer does not enhance your performance, it enables you to carry on at a level which may be close to your normal though. The way you are thinking physiotherapy after an injury should be banned because it allows you to return sooner.
Nope, one makes your performance better than your normal/natural ability would allow, the other just helps you to perform at or close to your normal level.
steroid use is rife to aid recovery particularly after injury which is when cortisone / painkillers etc are used it's very similar to criminal drug legislation just depends on what the legislators think are "acceptable" rather than any logical rationale but i'm pissed sad furious so off to bed
Look the fact is a lot of stuff on banned list was used to hide other stuff so yeah long term sticking cortisone into a knee ain't the best thing long term.. but there's two stearate arguement here. One is artificially being about to do something you've not been ever able to do and potentially killing yer self line so many athletes have died young back in the 80s etc. And the other will cripple you. Yeah it's long term bad to play through pain taking shot and long term you will suffer. Line how guys now have hip ops volunteerally when young in rugby like is expected... wrong. But they are separate branches. Drugs in sport if left unchecked would be pandemic and we'd be seeing deaths here and there all over the shop imo. People playing when pressured in pain taking cortisone injections is bad too. Bad long term to health and well being as injuries will become chronic.
