Even if they have, cant you wait till after it's been on tonight to discuss it?

I sky+ it and will be watching as soon as I get home from work but I still dont think it should be discussed until after tonight's showing.

It aired at 2am in the UK. Quite a lot of people have already watched it. If you haven't seen it yet, and I presume you don't want it spoiled at all, then why did you click on the thread? You're either a moron or just looking for an argument.

i clicked on the thread because the subject matter might have been about 'who is looking forward to it tonight?' If you'd said in the title "Game of Thrones shown today at 2am - who watched it and what did they think?" and then I clicked you'd have a point. But that wasnt the title.

    So who's the ****ing moron?

Come on, Bummers, even for you that's pedantic. I thought anyone who was a big GoT fan knew it aired 2am on a Monday morning, not tonight. Evidently, that wasn't the case as Ben thought it was tomorrow morning. My bad. But at least Ben now knows because of this thread that he can watch it now instead of waiting until 9pm. If it pleases Your Grace I'll ask one of the mods to change the title.

Anyway, are you looking forward to it?

I hope you don't mind, I've edited the title in the hope of avoiding confusion.

It'd be sad if it spoiled people's viewing if they found out about her dying in childbirth so early in the series. :bandit:

(I'm in for it if that actually happens..

I knew it was on at 2am, that's not the point. I'm saying I dont think it should be discussed until the main showing tonight, unless the subject header mentioned spoilers as it now does.

I was being entirely reasonable I thought, you were the one saying I must be a moron or looking for a fight.

    And yes I am :emoticon-0100-smile

I've just seen the preview for the second episode on HBO's YouTube channel. The first episode pretty much sets the scene for the new season, picking up directly where season 5 left off. I reckon episode 2 will be where things get interesting.

recorded the 2am showing, watched it, even considered staying up to watch it, sets the scene nicely for the remainder of the series, and no I aint gonna spoil it for those who haven`t seen it yet.

I think we'll get a few flashbacks this season as well. I just watched the second trailer again and noticed something I missed before. There's a shadow of a knight stabbing a robed figure in the back. I think it's a flashback of Jaime stabbing King Aerys Targaryen.

If you pause at 1.07 you can see it.

    Ah right.

Wasn't expecting Doran and Trystane to get killed off. The producers have truly ****ed up the Dorne storyline now, going against the books.

Their deaths did seem to come out of nowhere, even by GoT standards.

This is what happens when they overtake the source material (though I believe Martin does give the show creators the basic elements of plot for each episode). It might pay off, we won't know for a while though I feel.

This snippet from a website I saw summed it up nicely:

By murdering both Doran and Trystane, Ellaria effectively ended any hope of peace between the Martells and the Lannisters and created a power vacuum in the desert kingdom of Dorne.

Ellaria probably doesn't have any designs on the Iron Throne herself, but she may lend Dorne's strength to whoever decides to remove the Lannisters from King's Landing. It should also be noted that the Martells have historically had close ties with the deposed Targaryen family, which may prove important if Daenerys Targaryen ever crosses the Narrow Sea and invades Westeros.

While the other Seven Kingdoms were ravaged and weakened by wars between the Lannisters, Starks, and Baratheon forces, Dorne's army is at full strength and is tantalizingly close to the capital city of Westeros, which could prove problematic as the Lannisters desperately try to shore up their remaining allies.
