We could have insisted on a bigger fee or he stays. Barcelona would have paid much more. We got done by them and by Suarez himself.

We should have called his (and Barcelona's) bluff.

At the time most people thought 75mil was about right. Remember he came with baggage and left with even more.

It's a massive thing to sum up in a post, but at the time we simply had to let him go. We didn't want him going to a direct rival so we took the deal.

    Ah lads don't be greedy.

The committee and Rogers with more money?

    C'mon...
Let's be glad they didn't have even more to waste

Obviously we now know it was less than 75, but at the time that was the deal - most thought that was ok, all things considered.

Not with Rogers and the 'committee'. Let's hope Klopp would use £65m a lot better. Hopefully we'll find out this summer. That said, it was in one of the papers a month or so back that we still hadn't used @ £20m of the Suarez money, and that was based on the £75m figure. So if it was £65m we've under-spent by £30m on our overall transfer budget during the last three summers.

Anyway, good luck to him. We had one of the greatest players of our time playing in our yard. At least we can say we saw him play in the flesh and gave us an amazing season.

It's done and dusted now. Memories is all that's left <wah>

Basically the club said it was £75m to placate the fans. But in reality they sold him for a bargain to an already good side.

True. But even Klopp can't replace Suarez. He's one of a kind.

Obviously Klopp with 200mil to spend is mouth watering, but give that to the committee and Rodgers and we're stuck with loads of Balotelli's on 300k a week to get rid of. So it could have been a blessing in disguise <laugh>

I'm not sure on the 75mil story and how it came about etc. but it does seem odd that we didn't get that when told so.

But hey what's 10mil in the grand scheme of things. That's about an Aspas and one of Llori's legs.

Exactly. It's all swings and roundabouts to be fair.

The bottom line is - we bought him for 23mil and had some great moments (and some bad!) and sold him for 65mil.. that's good business in anyone's book.

According to some papers we're going to put in a bid for De Pie in the summer, and Uniturd are keen to sell. So there's £100k of it gone.

If you had £20 mil left from a figure of £75 mil then reducing that figure to it's correct £65 mil only leaves you £10 mil unspent <ok>

Arsenal TV has become a laughing stock tbh.

Funny to watch at times though. Certainly more entertaining than Arsenal.
