The Jungle Book. Absolutely epic film. Literally. 9/10 best new film I've seen in ages. Go watch it you wont be disappointed.
Can't remember who said Luther improves after I said the first few episodes were meh but they're right. First season ended much better than it began and 2nd season is good too. I didn't like his boss in the first season. Terrible actress. Glad they replaced her. Think casting in general better. Got rid of that annoying red-head too. Axed all the bad actors that hurt the first season.
Been rewatchin some old GoT eps in preparation for the new run. Watchers on the Wall was totes epic ... when it's good it's really very good
My boss gave me her HBO password on Friday so I can catch up on last season. Unfortunately it didn't work. Have to try again Monday. Disappointed that the show is overtaking the books now. Not sure how that's going to work out qualitywise. Hard to believe over 20 years since I read the first one and still waiting for series to be completed.
Absolutely. He's a perfectionist, yes and spends time rewriting while chapters over and over again... ... But he's also got distracted by writing tv show episodes (for more than just GoT) and has admitted he gets distracted by video games and sometimes doesn't write things for weeks at a time.
Put it this way. Publish that book 2 weeks ago and he'd have made enough to never pick up a pen again.
Going to bed early, get up, watch it and then going back to bed. In all honesty I'll probably just get up early tomorrow and watch it before going
By publishing the book it would spoil the Jon Snow question. I think the book is done and HBO have asked him to wait a little longer before publishing it.
Given the amount of effort gone in to keeping the very thing quiet, no leaks etc, it will be well worth the payoff.
I disagree. I've read the published books so this is the first time I go into a season not knowing what happens, so I can't wait for it to start. Plus the show is different to the books with some things so I can't get pissed off if they change something now. Plus Jon Snows resurrection deserves to be kept for tv. Will be much better than reading it in a book imo.
Saw a disturbing but really brilliantly-acted film last night on Netflix called Calvary. It has three well-known Irish comedians in it: Brendon Gleeson, Chris O'Dowd (IT Crowd) and Dylan Moran (Black Books) but it's no comedy, not even a black comedy as it states. Gleeson is a priest who hears confession from one of his parishioners who was abused by a priest when he was a child. The priest in question is dead, but the man wants to make someone from the priesthood pay so he tells Gleeson he will murder him on Sunday week on the beach where they live in Ireland. He can't kill a bad priest but killing a good priest will make headlines. The priest knows who the man is, but we don't until the very end. It's a very moving film as the priest tries to come to terms with the threat and administer to his flock, and also builds bridges with his daughter (when he became a widower he joined the priesthood). It tackles the sensitive issues of abuse by priests, anger, self-loathing and vengence. If you haven't seen it do so. I cried at the end. In contrast, I can also recommend In Order of Disappearance. A Norwegian with English subtitles with the guy who played River on BBC 1. It's very much in the same vein as In Bruges. It starts off a bit sad but then there are some amusing moments in it. A man hears about the death of his son from drug dealers and to get his revenge he bumps them off one by one.
