I do like the cut of his gib. He is arrogant, but in a way that can only mean good things for Charlton.

    Bring it on...

Very confident, and justifiably so I think. He's certainly ensured that Charlton will be seen as the team that other teams will love to beat, the moneyed big boys, the Manchester City of League 1!

I love that at long last we finally have people in charge with a positive vision of the future instead of apologising for punching above our weight, nothing wrong in being confident at all

He said more in that interview than Murray did in the last 5 years.

I posted at the end of last season about setting out our stall early.

Meant it really more in a footballing sense, but this keynote interview I didn't expect.

Great confidence, as you'd expect from a successful businessman, a touch of arrogance, a barely perceptable side swipe at our departed midfielder and his new club, hint of a bit of leeway for CP.

    Class act.

    And not before time.

Interesting part was the other link in the article where he says that a likely 2 more players will be coming in before B'mouth game - a central defender and a 20 goal a year striker.

Good news, except for Doc and Mambo.

I would previously have put our top priority as another right-back. Does this mean Francis is staying? I would be happy with that.

But Slater and Powell both said "two or three" so perhaps the third would be if Francis did leave?

Judging by Francis' accelerated inclusion in recent squads, it suggests there's been a U-Turn here and he's now part of the plans. Don't think he would've played 90 minutes against Bromley otherwise. Happy to give him that chance... apparently he did a run from his own penalty box to their by-line to put in a cross... that's the actions of a man who wants to play.

Also love his guarantee of Top 6...

Would prefer a guarantee of top 2, mind...

I think secretly he thinks top 2, but just to save a bit of face and be diplomatic he mentions top 6.

I like his guarantee, wonder if we aren't in the top 6 come Jan whether he be willing to go out and spend again.

I don't find that particularly impressive considering we were fifth in the table before he took over. Reminds me of politicians who keep dressing up the same budgeted expenditure as "new initiatives" or "fresh investment" every few months.

Now if he did stick his neck out and guarantee top two I would be more impressed.
