In today's press conference Slavi said everybody is fit and well, except the long lost Sakari Matilla (who apparently has had a bad back for some months now!). He also said that, "we want to finish in style". So, it's open season who he'll play. I'm going to rule out Hutchinson and Burn because, while they apparently had a decent game against Ipswich, I believe they were only there because Nando and Madl had problems. And .. I give you two possible line-ups this week: Option 1 ....................Bettinelli........ .............Madli.....Amorebieta.. ...Fredericks......................Ream.. .................Ince....Parker... ...LVC.........Cairney........Hyndman.. ................McCormack... Option 2 ....................Bettinelli...... ..Stearman..Madl..Amorebieta..Ream.. ...........LVC.....Parker....Hyndman.. ....................Cairney.. ...........Dembele...McCormack...
Still think SJ is experimenting with his defense so may be try ....................Bettinelli...... Fredericks..Stearman...Hutchinson..Amorebieta....(Ream) ......................Parker.......... ...............Ince..........Tunnicliffe...... ......................Cairney.......... ...........Dembele.....McCormack... try to nick the ball in midfield and feed it to the front 3 quicker Depending on which half SJ will go to a more attacking edge with Fredericks or a more defensive one with Ream.
Hear tell that Ryan Sessegnon will be travelling with the squad. Can't see the young man starting but who knows, he might get a seat on the bench. please log in to view this image Sounds like a good move by the Club to keep the predators (Arsenal in particular) at bay and encourage him to stay.
We've got Mr Rob Lewis in charge today. Quite unbelievably for such a rookie, we've seen him before - the 3-2 defeat away to Wolves in January. Last season he only managed to get 10 games and was pretty conservative with cards: only 19 yellow and 2 red. Realising the error of his ways, although still struggling to be assigned games - only 25 so far across all the Leagues - he's upped the ante this year, to 84 yellow and 4 reds.
'Aint got no heart 'Aint got no soul First goal .. Set piece.. 25 minutes .. Game over! Absolutely no organisation or shape in the team throughout ... End Of!
Needless foul from Ambrorietta, soft penalty - gifted two goal lead. Deserved to lose but were unlucky with a couple of shots off he wood work and the ref didn't give much away. Had better days !
I remarked just before the freekick it would be nice if someone would mark the 3 Forest Players lining up outside the 18 yard box, as they would have a free shot if the ball came out to them. First half tactics all wrong, Hyndman is not a winger, and he gave little cover to Ream hence Amorebieta was covering and gave away a silly foul. Their penalty was a soft one by Hyndman. We never had any real control of the game and lots of mis-placed passing, and the Forest keeper did well to keep some shots out in 2nd half. Didn't really capitalise on Smiths Ariel strength in the 2nd half, and some of the Ref's decisions were frustrating, thought Fredericks was pulled back inside the area, and Smith was stopped from getting to the ball by two players just dragging him down.
McCormack was more than remarking SuperBri, he was yelling at Hyndman to come out and mark the first of those three. Probably wouldn't have made any difference mind since that first one stepped over the ball and nobody was anywhere near the second of the three who promptly shot home. All this while our lot were busy hugging and tugging whoever was near them inside the six yard box; none of them actually looking at the ball. Clumsy explanation I know, but you'll see what I was trying to get at when the "highlights" come out.
We're we that bad?? Had to work today so haven't really seen anything but the score, did get a quick look at the stats though and I know they don't tell the whole story but we had 22 attempts to there 12 plus more possession more corners???
Do we ever put men on the posts at set piece situations? If not, why not, it would surely help and if we do, what the hell are they doing? Also, thanks to the wonders of twitter I have just listened to Slavi's post match interview with BBC London. He sounds incredibly frustrated/hacked off. Wouldn't surprise me to see him walk during the summer and wouldn't blame him if he did to be honest. Must be soul destroying working with people who keep repeating the same mistakes and never learn. I bet this isn't what he thought he'd signed up for (he even referred to us as Watford at one point).
I wasn't at the same game as those stats Cookie. No way did we have 22 "shots" that were anywhere near the goal and as for the one that says our pass accuracy was 74% accurate - pure humbug. That was one of our biggest flaws; we gave the ball away time after time by sloppy passing. And don't get me going on the one that says we made 17 "key" passes. So, yes we were that bad. For anyone who hasn't seen the stats and is interested, here's a link: http://www.fulhamfc.com/first-team/2015_2016/league/home/nottingham-forest#matchstatistics
The "highlights" - Won't add to my earlier post about their first goal. But, the penalty shout with McCormack in the first half looks as good as I thought it was on the day and the Smith one in the second .. how was that not given?
From the few things I have read, I don't think Slavi will leave but he sounds like he is looking forward to getting rid of a fair few players and bringing in his own.
