    About time...

Rest of the clubs felt sorry it's taken you so long to try win another one they flunked this years tournament to help you out... just don't let all our hard work be undone by losing to Palace or Watford now <doh>

Herrera was only on the pitch for a few minutes but he had more impact than Wazza. Yes he stumbled initially when passed the ball in the build up to the winning goal but he still played a cute pass through to Martial. He's a gem of a player who LVG has wasted. I think he'll be a Barca player pretty soon.

I'll go for 2nd. Its over a 38 game period and shows where your club is at in the grand scheme of things. You can get lucky and win the cup.

Poch was never in LVG's shadow. LVG is insecure about Poch. That is why he refers to Spurs as his yard stick in so many interviews indirectly.

LVG won't be sacked if you win the cup though

He won't be sacked. He'll leave by mutual consent! Guaranteed.

I'd rather finish second. Puts us into the group stages of the CL. That helps us attract the quality of players that we're going to need.

The cup is nice, but it doesn't have the magic it had when I was a kid.

Let's be honest, you'd soil yourself to get a cup win.

I Meant what I said. The question was which would you rather have - either or. In my view, I'd take second in the PL over a cup win.

I would love to win the cup. Just because it's been devalued by the media and some clubs doesn't mean its still not a great competition.

Fair enough but I don't relate to that way of thinking at all.

We need to add quality and depth to our squad. Our inability to compete on all fronts this season has demonstrated that. In my view, one of the easiest ways to attract the kind of players we need is to be able to offer them CL football.

I'd rather look back on a cup win than a second placed finish. We only get so many seasons!

:) excellent... ... he looked good yesterday tbf ... less so in the second half when the game switched from 'walking football' to the proper stuff... but you can certainly see where his future lies ... hopefully Woy will note than Wayne should be played behind the strikers ... not as one of them. :)

It's a banker he has to play no matter where. Lets hope Vardy can emulate the greatness of Wazza, but as things stand his vast goals tally might amount to the sum total of fck all if his ban results in you losing the league. This is why Wazza's experience and sheer world-classness trumps every English striker in the premier league

  18. It depends where we finish in the table if we won a cup. If we finished 3rd or 4th, I'd take that and the Cup over 2nd. If it meant finishing outside the top 4, no I'd prefer 2nd to the Cup.

As NSS and others say, finishing 2nd shows everyone where we have come, and that we are very much a force to be reckoned with. Poch has turned a club that had promise into a club that delivers inside two seasons. That is some achievement. Next season, I think we will consolidate with another top 4 finish. If we can keep Poch beyond next season, we'll be among the title favourites season after next, and beyond.

That's looking to the future. I'd rather have all of that ahead of me, than to cling to the ever-fading memory of a solitary cup win.

I would play Kane and Sturridge up front, and Vardy as a sub. with Roo sitting behind them

The trouble is you may not have that ahead of you. Look around Europe, how many clubs that have made their first year in the CL (for the sake of argument) attracted the top players? Look at the Dutch, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish Leagues. I can't think of many. Did it help Liverpool who came 2nd a couple of years ago? I honestly don't mean to patronise, but any fan who's club has seen years of CL football will say you're being a bit naive.
