Watched the game. In control for the first half (majority), confidence and some real good touches bur fell to pieces for a couple of mins in the second. Definitely got to get a new keeper in the summer but I reckon with Sakho banned, Skrtel and Toure's days numbered, maybe a new CB in addition to Matip. Sturridge should stay.
Its about judgement of individual players. It was so frustrating to see Moreno trying to play as a striker when we were 2-1 up and result in the 2nd goal. He even ****ed up on the first goal by trying to intercept a ball instead of dropping back and making sure the player the ball was meant to go to wasn't available. Klopp has spoken before about players only going forward if they are able to make it back in time if the move breaks down, Moreno clearly didn't consider this when breaking forward and as a result cost us the goal. Obviously there were other players to blame, like Sturridge for losing the ball in a promising position, Toure turning is back on the cross, Randall losing his man for the 1st goal + not making an effective block on the 2nd goal, no one getting anywhere near Colback and Mignolet's obvious stinker.
After watching your last few games I would say the players who have most influence on the team are Milner, Lallana and Allen. They dictate the flow and speed of the game and are your most creative players (not always the final pass but opening the opposition). Origi has hit a great spell of scoring (he has done it in short spells in the past) and Sturridge is a fantastic striker for you. Firmino is mostly a ghost and Coutinho needs to stop shooting from any chance he gets outside the box and become a team player. If Klopp can replace 4/5 players you will be a very good Premier League team.
So, the players then and Klopp is absolved. Who is responsible when it goes right and you get a 4-0 win?
Your post was all about the players mistakes and said nothing about the set up/ tactics, what did you expect me to read in it?
We can't help wondering where we would be if we had a better GK, someone like DeGea for example. That guy has saved United and van Gaal's bacon so many times and will probably rescue them this time too. Mignolet has destroyed whatever slim chance we had of getting CL ( yes, some of us did have that very very slim hope although not said it explicitly ). As long as mignolet plays for us we will not win the title. There Ive said it. No chance because he can only transform wins into draws or defeats and never the other way round. The problem is who is going to buy him unless we are willing to take a huge loss on his transfer fees and subsidise his wages.
I was up in Liverpool on family business yesterday so didn't see and couldn't follow the match, but I understand we have Mignolet to thank again for yet another royal **** up! The Sakho thing has really upset me and we don't need that sort of drama now! What the hell!? I'm glad Rafa got a good welcome, though.
His wages ain't that high and the loss ain't that great. In the end I'd agree for an actual title team he's nowhere near good enough
2-0 up. Mr Mingolet totally flops on =player They play long we decide to do same... Hmmm lack of midfield composure.... They get deflected goal of more mistakes... hmmmm. Really I reckon eyes were on Thursday there and if the brain that is dejan lovern can comment about ht I reckon the lot of them are to blame.
