****ing hell, I can see why Toure would want to burn fat, but Sakho? Bit like Rooney taking whey protein.
Other options at the back are... An old man, a head the ball or a DM. The DM is probably the best option.
It's a fat burning tablet he's been busted for so it falls under performance enhancing as it's a tablet that supports and helps sustain lean muscle mass and stops the body storing fat / makes it burn it more continuously and also helps maintain a desired weight. Pro athletes usually have to have a very low body fat percentage, around 2%, which optimises things like cardiovascular performance, aerobic and anaerobic fitness, so the tablets make this easier to maintain, allow you to have more muscle (or less fat to inhibit the muscular and peak bodily performance depending how you look at it) to be effective and be working at optimum level when playing.
If he's been taking enhancing drugs I would hope he misses every season. The consequences to the club could be horrendous. If it's recreational we should ban him for a year and fine him a year's wages, donating the proceeds to charity. I LOVE Sakho, but if this is confirmed he's toast in my book.
We don't know the circumstances of him taking it. Could be a few reasons. He's a very lean player but perhaps he had a bad week with his diet, felt a bit flabby and decided to take them, maybe despite his lean physique he has ongoing problems with excess fat in places that he needs to manage, this is a huge problem for even the fittest looking people/athletes and one the fitness industry makes a hell of a lot of money off, in the end you can't beat the body but you can cheat or deceive it a little bit, or maybe Toure just shilled him a load with his charming dealer's pitch
Fat burners aren't held in the same levels of pariah-ness as steroids, blood doping etc. You can get a bottle of fat burners off the shelf in Holland and Barrett. It's down to what's in the pills though, they're all different. Basic level all they do is make your metabolism work a bit harder and longer than normal
Cocaine, amphet and uppers use was rife in many sports during the 80s, have first hand stories from ex-pros
Pearce reports LFC/Sakho will likely ask for a B sample test, suggesting they think it's a false positive The report about fat burners looks along the lines of "maybe Sakho used fat burners, which you can buy for yourself by clicking here" - it's a sports supplement website so take their fat burner report with a pinch of salt
all i can say is he's done and he's not going to play again this season. Club is doing the dead right thing. no tolerance for it.
The club have voluntarily suspended him to avoid pressure on him, with no admission of wrong doing He could request the B sample to be tested on Tuesday and then cleared as soon as that takes to process
I don't really care. That's the process imo the club have done the right thing as of now finding out he's potentially ****ed it. They put him on suspension and will not field him until proven innocent. There can be no tolerance of this stuff whatsoever as substances on banned lists are not inscribed by the club so he took it himself and with all the supports we give these guys every day he may have and prob did go ignore that and risk it. Ergo... good to drop him and not play a guy who's prob broken rules If b sample is negative fine... but until then club must do right thing.
incredibly rare for B sample to show a different result to A sample and that is normally due to faults at the Doping test centre. or more likely influence being used to get said athlete off the charge
