To be honest, Okore refusing to sit on the bench doesn't surprise me. He is a good centre back, I don't understand why he hasn't been given a chance over lescott who has been absolutely woeful. Also, Idrissa Gueye isn't actually that bad. Definitely think he could do a job at a better club. I've said it before, there are quite a few villa players that aren't that bad. There is just something extremely toxic going on behind the scenes.
And Marconi Day. And Shakespeare's designated Day [born sometime in April]. Earth Day was yesterday. Good to see them flying in an HS146. One of the most comfortable airliners it's been my pleasure to travel in.
Be nice, but this year our GD is good without being spectacular because we haven't managed those big wins. A +8 could be useful.
I put this in Shakespeare's Corner, but I feel this is the place for it: KING RONALD: Once more to Villa Park, dear friends, once more; And close our goal up with our fans' stale pies. In summer there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of football blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean. Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit To his full height. On, on, you noblest Saints Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof! Fathers that, like so many McMenemys Have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: Dishonour not your mothers; now attest That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you. Be copy now to men of grosser blood, And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman, Whose limbs were made in Staplewood, show us here The mettle of your pasture; let us swear That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not; For there is none of you so mean and base, That hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Ronald, England, and Saint George!'
Just look at Albrighton, and he couldn't even get into their team I think it would be just typical of Saints that we fail to win against the worst team in the division. But n the other hand, I also don't see how a serious and well organised team could fail to win against a bunch of layabouts low on confidence and with complete lack of desire.
