And they all played together at their peak at the same time?, I already explained what I meant in reply to lff's post...It's the depth of quality as a "group". I probably know just as much as you about Saints history, as a supporter of over 40 years!
Hey fella, relax. Seemed a little angst in this post. I hadn't read your comments later as I worked through the thread posts in order. Just in time for our visitors at the weekend.. "Calm down, calm down" I was just making a point, as others did too.
West Ham are as catchable to us as Leicester are to Tottenham I suppose. Not exactly optimistic, but if we can keep winning our games then we can be on them if they slip up. Though if I had to have a bet, I'd put it all on eighth.
A question of ifs. If Liverpool win the EL, they are in the CL, so that's the first 4 and Liverpool satisfied. If Manchester United win the FA Cup, then it is the EL for them. If West Ham finish let's say 7th, then it's the EL. Would the 8th placed team be in the EL qualifying rounds as Saints were last August or has that changed?
So suppose he agrees to go to another club, he could fail the medical and end back at Saints if his knees are so dodgy. Or the buying club negotiate a knock-down price?
But then we only had 4 CL entries. If Liverpool win the EL, then 5 go forward. Saints were the 3rd entry behind Spurs and Liverpool, but of course had to go through the qualifying rounds. The FA Cup winners (maybe United) and West Ham (probably) get the autos. I do not know if the next team down (8th) in the scenario that I have given gets a place in the qualifying round.
Could be caught by Chelsea or Stoke, so Saints better win at least two more games to have a hope of entering the 3rd qualifying round and Manchester United and Liverpool do their business.
And yet still he plays (and scores goals). Charlie Austin on the other hand presumably passed his medical before we bought him, but he doesn't play.
Look when I posted it.... His knee will never be right. That doesn't mean he can't play. It just means he needs to be managed right. Austin is starting to worry me.
