    http://www.makingsteel.com/severstal.html

Mordashov is Mittals most aggressive rival?? Oooer, I hope Mordy hasn't gone in for Qpr to put one over Laksmi after Mittal look Acelor from him...

'Talk about a bitter pill to swallow: Lakshmi Mittal is selling Sparrows Point to Alexei Mordashov, billionaire CEO of Russian steelmaker Severstal, at a steep markdown.

Two years ago, Mittal famously outmaneuvered Mordashov to win control of Arcelor Steel. Ironically enough, that merger led to an anti-trust decree that today forced Mittal to sell Sparrows Point to his rival'

Ouch... That doesn't read too friendly :(

Great post Cerny, kept everyone guessing right up until the last minute.
What with all the doubters and rumours, the second guessers etc, it played out like a thriller.
    Great entertainment!
If it is Mordy, and he's doing this to get one over on Mittal.
I hope he is at odds with Abramovich & Mansour and wants to best them too.
Blue & White Hooped Jumbo wasn't just a joke after all ;-)

Can I just say that having read that lot my head hurts!

Brixton, the voice of reason as always.

I'm not sure I like the idea of my club being used as a pawn in some billionaire's squabble!

Having said that, getting rid of the goons has to be a good thing, doesn't it?

So...Cerny has repeatedly said the buyer is Mordy...have I got that right?
The buyer is rumoured tp be the owner of Lotus who is "only" worth £200 million!!

No mention of this Mordy!! Did you get that wrong Cerny?

The owner of Lotus sounds more likely. Bernie and Flav would definitely sell to him. They lost out at West Ham to Gold and Sullivan who came in with the best offer and look what happened to them. I hope its the Russian but anyone would be better then the current two idiots!

Fair play mate, I owe you an apology you are the real CernyBerny from 606!

I really thought you were an imposter on the wind up. Not that anyone would notice given that the official comings and goings are more outlandish than anything dreamt up by any wums on here!

Woah woah woah, lets hold the praise.

''Mordy is expected to be in place by thursday next week, complete buyout, no interest from the mittals''.

If my spider senses are correct, there's no mention of Mordy, today is Friday and the talk is of another investor, not a complete buyout.

    Couldn't be more wrong?? :D

I agree GoMadgeGo.......I appreciate Cernyberny's info and think his info is 80% correct......it isnt a done deal by any means, otherwise the club statement would state the Holding company had been sold, subject to FA approval etc, yada, yada, yada.

My take on the statement, says that QPR Holdings were in talks with sale of the shares (the mittals) this has subsequently broken down and they are now in talks with another buyer. (possibly this Russian or could be Mr Air Asia).

To say we will be under new owners by Thursday was a little niave.....as we only got a statement.....its all positive stuff though.

And thank you Cernyberny (or should I call you Phil Ellery ;) ) for the info and keep us up to date with anymore info you hear about.

80% was just a generalization or term of speech per say, to state that what Cerny said wasnt 100% correct.......as he said we would have new owners by Thursday.....but that isnt true.....as it stands, Bernie and Flavio are still the owners of QPR Holding Ltd.

The original article says "Mordy expected to be in place by Thursday" and as it stands they are still in talks......a bit like we are in talks with DJ Campbell.

Even more so the case now that Fernandes has entered the frame.
