History suggests that a flag unfurled in the East Stand during the game with the ball nearby gets more publicity than lots of angry chants especially if they take place outside the ground- although if they took place in the Allams empty car parking spaces before the game that would be media friendly too, as after the game they're filing their reports.
Given the almost total negative response to the new membership scheme I think the FWG should request a meeting with the club to discuss it.
oooo...I feel all warm inside. I knew that between me and Dutch there was a creative side somewhere! (I'm John Lennon by the way.........although I realise that doesn't bode well for me)
The sensible thing would be to bin the whole thing. If they really want a membership scheme the club should organise some proper fan consultation meetings and work something out for the season after next. More chance of seeing the pope and the queen staring in a porn movie.
It's popped up numerous times on both my twatter & facefuck feeds. You're more famous than Lennon who was more famous than Jesus. You're Gary Barlow.
You just have to do an e-mail to the club and a press release saying as the representatives of the supporters you'd like a meeting to discuss the membership scheme. The climate has now changed and they may well talk to you. If not it'll look even more dictatorial.
Some things for consideration. 1. Does the FWG e-mail group and the meeting that discussed the Trust statement, mentioned by OLM, intend to do more than ask for the club to withdraw the scheme? 2. Do we want to call for a total boycott? I have mixed views. I can see why CityFiley and others passionately in favour. But a boycott would only be effective if it is organised and we didn't get promotion. If we get promotion the Allams wouldn't care less if we didn't attend. I can see the need for an opposition inside the stadium as well as out. There's part of me that says its our club and we should not be forced out. There is a serious debate to be had on what we do and we don't have long. 3. The campaign to get rid of the scheme could be longer than this season. We are in the play-offs and would be surprised if there was any change prior to Wembley. 4. There have been various suggestions for protests in the ground, from walking out at 65 minutes or 19 minutes (suggested for the Rotherham game) to a pitch invasion. My view is that any protests either in the ground or outside should be properly organised and have a significant level of support and participation. Any protest should have mass support. 5. Does the membership scheme comply with the various pieces of consumer legislation? Are we going to seek legal advice on this?
