So finally, finally. After two or more years of having allowed my basher acoustic guitar to fall over in the kitchen and break its head, and then to repair it with synthetic horse glue, and then to mislay the tuners and screws that I had removed, and then to clean up the head and neck, and then to finally stumble over the tuners again and put them back in... did I buy some new strings and re-string the old guitar. And no, it didn't break again, but what a sweat it was doing it. I have simply forgotten how to put strings on a guitar. Now I have to remember how to play.
I buy these picture rail guitar hangers from Ebay made by a company calles FretFunk. Ideal if you have picture rails and guitars!
If you don't have picture rails you can get this sort of thing to screw straight into the wall: please log in to view this image
Stockport Council try to ban market traders from handing out red roses on St George's Day (tomorrow incidentally) in case it drummed up support for the Labour Party (breaking election rules). Do they think the great British public is so stupid that they can be bribed by the largesse of a rose? I think it's a nice touch and will put a smile on people's faces. Luckily the council have changed their minds after the Liberals said they didn't mind.
All sorts in the news today. Obama visit, Prince tributes. Alton Towers, Ripper styled teenage murder to name a few. What is trending at number 1 on the BBC website? Romania expelled from Eurovision. Good to see we know our priorities
Have to share a great quote in an article about 'elf and safety trying to stop a cheese rolling competition. ''If you can't have a few drinks and chase a cheese down a steep hill, what's the point of being British.''

That is some list saintrichie, all at some point would have had an affect/influence on the lives of someone not known to them, be it through writing, singing or entertaining. Many of those passing way before their time. If i could just add to that list Colin Verncombe, lead singer of the group Black who tragically died in a road accident a couple of months ago. Someone else whos music and songwriting made an impression on me many years ago. R.I.P. to them all
Yes your quite right I forgot about Colin, I copied the list from the local paper, can't believe they missed him off. And as you say many have gone before their time let's hope 2016 is kinder going forward.
That list has been added to.... Percy Sledge "When a Man loves a Woman." The old ones on this site will have heard of him.
I saw Black in concert many years ago at the Royal Court in Liverpool when I lived in the city. I thoroughly enjoyed the event.
