Back to good forwards to see at Euro 2016. Muller, Bale but will he get the service (?), Greizeman. but I just feel that HK is as good as any bar the two I mentioned in a previous post.

He did in the qualifiers. That's my worry, that Wales is basically a one-man team though I suppose it could work in our favour and free up other players to score :D

Cresswell has been much better than Bertrand this season, but Rose has been consistently excellent. I remember Cresswell making some costly errors this season and his positional sense is somewhat lacking at the moment. I don't see why you find it hard to accept the best left back in the league this season is in the TOTY.

Yeah I do agree. Rose has really come on this season and has been consistently playing at a high level.

In your opinion.....not mine, the last time I watched Rose was in the England game and wasn't great at all.

20 yards outside the opposition box. Dammit, Pochettino has got something worked out there.

He was excellent in the first of the two England games, but not that good in the second.

And they speak for the whole nation?.......No.
Most people at work (including Spurs fans) said Rose was only average for the first half of the season and Cresswell should have been in instead of Rose.

Bertrand has been very solid for us this season, I've got no complaints. But I can't see how anyone can claim that he's been better than Rose this season.

Cresswell is harder to judge I think, because West Ham aren't on TV as much as Spurs. He looks good in highlights for sure, probably the best of all three, but that's not enough for me to hang my hat on. Danny Fox would be one of the greatest fullbacks we've ever had otherwise. I need to be able to see full 90 minutes of fullbacks, to get a feel for their defensive game. Not all fullbacks are like Janmaat, and have a defensive game so bad that it features in every highlight.

The thing about highlights and defenders is that a defender in the right position can break up an attack in a way that's utterly unspectacular and won't feature in those highlights. You only need to remember Morgan's defensive work to know that's true. Very few last-ditch tackles but plenty of being in the way of the right pass or intercepting the right pass, which just looks like someone giving the ball away and would never feature even though it's excellent play.

And very often, the spectacular last ditch tackle is as a result of not being good enough to cut it out unspectacularly in the first place...

That's quite interesting reading. Conceded a lot of goals during that run didn't we?

We need to keep Forster fit next season. And solve the RB problem.

I've read that Alex Ferguson said that getting rid of Jaap Stam was a huge mistake and blamed it on looking at his stats - he looked poor as he didn't make many tackles. He later realised that Stam did it the right way by not having to tackle.

Can't remember my source, I'm afraid.
