I certainly did when I lived Oop North. Generally when people say City in that context they are referring to The business centre in London.
I think areas of Harrogate on the Duchy estate (Rutland Drive) can actually lay claim to the most expensive street in Yorkshire.
I wrote something. AirlieTiger was that keen for an argument that he wrote a reply which made it obvious that he either hadn't read my post or hadn't understood it. I was merely trying to put him right.
That's not the point! I had no idea where Yorkshire's most expensive street was until i just googled it and this came up so have your argument with google about where the region's most expensive street is! Personally if I was guessing I'd have said Ilkley. The point is, I was replying to you saying you know everywhere in Leeds, have visited all areas and you couldn't live there and I asked if you could live here, which according to this article (from 2011) was Yorkshire's most expensive street. And why do you still regularly visit? Have we covered this?
Not all areas of Leeds are crap. Though the ones that are rough are rough indeed. What depresses me is to see how they have transformed areas of Leeds, such as behind the station, which forty years ago were derelict into a vibrant area with accommodation, pubs, restaurants and a really good museum whilst in Hull they are still talking of developing bomb sites from a war which ended 70 years ago.
I can't understand why you wasted 10 years of your life in a place you hate, no career is worth that. Its all personal opinion of course, for me its ideal, great music scene, restaurants, night life, shopping...etc, not to mention some of the best cycling spots in the country right on my doorstep. Out of interest where do you live now?
I don't and I wouldn't. Surprised at such sloppy research for an alleged journo. You are Fieldhouse aren't you?
Is it me or are there even more arguments than usual going on today? Are we all a bit tetchy at the loss of Prince? Will he be the subject of the Friday night music thread?
It'll be a short thread. He actively pursued people for putting his material on the tube. Getting it removed & even suing some fans for breaches of copyright. There's very little on there.
I only worked the Leeds area, I didn't live their. I have with the exception of 5 or so years lived in West Hull Villages. I commuted from East Yorks, it was a home based role that covered the entire LS postcode and parts of Bradford. In fact over the last 20 years there isn't a part of Yorkshire I haven't seen.
I didn't realize that. Then again I only just realized he'd written Manic Mondays for the Bangles and Nothing Compares to You for Sinead O'Connor! He gave away some bigger hits than some artist have ever had....
You dont and you wouldnt what? Do you mean regularly visit? In your first rant about Leeds being a ****hole you said that you regularly visit present tense. And I've never once alleged that I'm a journalist. I tell journalists what to do. What's wrong with marketing? And what's even more wrong with PR?
I have a degree in Marketing - You tell me? We do still regularly visit Leeds - my wife has friends that live in Leeds. Present tense. I'm sure the journalists all take note
Up to now this is quite an interesting discussion on the merits of Pulis's management style and his treatment of Chezzy.
