You're probably right - in the film, but I remember the put-down from a lot earlier, and it was just "even a stopped clock is right twice a day". Pithier, and makes more sense.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36099285 "In that short time he has looked lost and barely fit for purpose. This week Martinez said it would be a "bonus" if he figured in any more games this season as he still not ready for the demands of 90 minutes, a farcical state of affairs given his status at the third biggest signing in Everton's history." The most expensive signing still at the club is #doingalukaku, the 2nd isn't technically a footballer, the 3rd is McCarthy (who?), and the 4th was red carded for being a talentless **** #thatwentwell
At the time we approached Rodgers and Martinez, we had a Director of Football. We scraped that approach when Brod was appointed ams layer introduced the committee.
Okay. It was probably the club, but let it go now. There have been and probably will be again worse challenges in derbies. The shirt thing was appalling, with Div still rolling on the ground, but as Martinez said, it was more a sign that his mind had gone as much as anything. Newcastle on Saturday - let's concentrate on that.
Saying his mind has gone is an easy let off for me He's a spiteful thug Complete coincidence that De Bruyne is having a great season getting all the headlines, then Funes Mori puts him out of action for months Now Origi is getting all the headlines for coming into great form and he's been put out of action for a couple of months too
Well in all honesty Astro, in real time, I, like the ref, thought it was a booking. Sure, the lino thankfully put him right and justice was served. It was dreadful challenge - but I have seen worse by both sides over the years, sometimes punished, sometimes not. In fact, had the lino been on the opposite he probably would have got away with a booking (but he would have got second - his head was ****ed, no mistake). To me though the issue was the badge thing, knowing Origi was really injured. Even one of the Everton coaches had a go at him over that. Let it go now. Nothing more to be done.
I've seen worse too, in games with a bad atmosphere and both teams going at it There was NOTHING in that game to warrant such a disgusting tackle. The only Liverpool booking was because of a dive by Barry. And for all his badge grabbing Funes Mori has been at Everton for about 3 days and achieved nothing with them.
**** his apology up his arse..."didn't intend to injure".. Bollocks...he keeps his foot on his ankle...he meant it alright. Not only has he damaged our chances in a semi he's damaged his own teams...his team mates should have handed him a beating in the changing room post game.
Completely agree, sad thing about this is the more you look at the tackle the more deliberate it looks, coupled with the fact that he has done De Bruyne too speaks volumes. I apply the yardstick of had this been Suarez... I play with a guy on friday, five a side, who believes no matter who he is playing he is good enough to stop them and he usually just ends up taking them out, maybe its a mental thing. It definately damages our chances against Villareal, simple fact was he was on form. These things happen it just a bit gaulling when it happens like this.
The challenge on De Bruyne wasn't even a foul. You chat some absolute bubbles you. He lost his head on Weds and made a shocking tackle, but he's no 'thug' and his disciplinary record this season is good. Carry on trying to paint him as the devil incarnate though.
That wasn't a foul That was 2 fouls in one go, from behind, with no attempt or ability to play the ball
Cool story bro So when someone's shielding the ball it's #legit play to smash them in the back with your arm to force them off balance, then reach over and grab their shirt to pull them back -- "The challenge on De Bruyne wasn't even a foul." @Tobes 22/04/16
Stop proving what a clueless **** you are lad. Read the comments under that video. He was looking to buy a cheap foul when he felt Mori behind him and ironically caught his studs and contorted his leg in his fall. It was at best innocuous, and not anything like you were trying to portray it as i.e. thuggish. As you'd not even bothered to view it, just made a dikchead assumption that he'd somehow set out to hurt the player, which he patently didn't, ergo you were talking absolute bollocks
Mori was being a **** because Everton had been totally shown up yet again 3rd minute of injury time and he's climbing all over the player who came on and won the game
