Morning all from a very overcast West West London...how I ever got around the M25 this morning, the good lord himself only knows. I got home from West Ham about 12.00, little Miss W_Y got home from Old Trafford about 2.00 AM and woke me up and then around 4.00 AM both sons were banging about, having showers and doing last minute packing in preparation for flying out to Portugal on a stag do - then my alarm went off at 05.30! BB - can you please keep your thoughts about Murdoch's wedding nuptials to yourself, it has put me right off my morning porridge!
Morning all from a cloudy St. Helier. This is probably my last post on this thread until after the semi-final. I fly out this evening to spend the weekend at my Mum, and jerzeypie will be there as well. I have a school reunion at the Peahen in Snorbens tomorrow night, am going bowling Saturday afternoon for the 18th of youngest, even though it was early January. I then fly back on Sunday afternoon and if my flight is on time, I should arrive back on the island about 20 minutes before kick-off.
Hope all goes well with the travel Barry. I hope that they have done up The Peahen over the years - I remember going to a "Gentlemen's Evening" there back in the late 70's and it was a right dump, I was itching and scratching* for days after. * Before any smart arses come up with some wise cracks - NO IT WASN'T!
I see that Ched Evans has had his conviction for rape overturned - I wonder which club will be racing to sign him up.
'Gentleman's Evening' - such a misnomer, but dredges up memories. Many moons ago during my rugby days, my club organised a pre-season tour in Brisbane, and arranged a 'Gentleman's Lunch' just before the first match. Being young and naive, I thought it was just some sort of team bonding meal and was totally unprepared for what ensued. After watching a naked lass gyrate around the stage for 30 minutes, I was horrified when she chose me for her 'finale' - and wrapped her legs around my neck. Was even more horrified when, after it was all over, I found that she had left a huge stain on my brand new tracksuit top - one that wouldn't wash out...
None I suspect - at least until his retrial has been finalised. Even if found not guilty of rape, he's still a grub for what he did in my eyes.
I've posted a separate thread for this, but my latest book 'The Knife Edge' is now available as a Kindle text and a paperback will be available on Amazon soon. For anyone who's interested, it's a murder mystery set in 9th century Wessex and you can sample a few pages via amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EDZRZ8W
We spent all day yesterday at Heraklions archeaological museum. A wonderful place full of treasures, some nearly 6000 years old. What these folk did with basic tools and materials was truly amazing.
Morning all from the bright and sunny North of Scotland. Am off to hospital this morning for a Pre-Admission Assessment for my soon-to-come second knee replacement op. Three months off work looming, but no summer holidays for me this year...
Morning all, dry but rather grey here at present. Our wisteria that runs along the garden railings and the lean-to outbuilding is heavy with blossom, and when you go out of the door the air is filled with the sweet scent. The pear tree in the garden is also in full blossom, and there is a general humming sound from the many bees that are going from flower to the next. All of the hedgerows are in their early season vivid green despite the mauling that the council workmen gave them last Autumn, so I think it safe to say that Spring is with us.
Morning all from a very overcast and chilly bandit country - weather forecast is not great for Sunday, but at the moment they do not forecast any rain! Very sad to see the passing of Prince, whilst he was not one of my favourite musicians, you cannot doubt his talent - just have to look at some of the songs he wrote. 2016 has not been a great year for the music business
All best BB I have been suffering from acute pelvis and hip pain for three weeks. Even been on valium (Really been wondering how I will cope with a 4 hour drive down to Wembley..... but will do my best! ) The joys of a slowly ageing body eh...

I'm flying down from Inverness tomorrow - only a 90 minute flight. Unfortunately, it's a near-two hour drive to get to Inverness...
I think you'll find that he went a year or three ago. Lot of this doing the rounds, you're not the first and won't be the last.
