I could have over 80% pass success rate if all I ever did was turn lay it back or inside within 20 feet.
It was hardly a simple through ball, it was a perfectly weighted dink over the defence. Meyler often struggles to pass 3 or 4 yards, if he attempted that pass it's likely to end up closer to the sea than its recipient.
No chance. Hernandez has only contributed goals. Abel Hernandez 32 league appearances 18 goals 2 assists 79% passing success 2 MOTM awards 6.9 rating per game. A modern strikers game is about a lot more than just goals. You need a work ethic and an energy. Andre Gray 40 league appearances 24 goals 8 assists 68.6% passing success 5 MOTM awards 7.01 rating per game. 8 assists is the best in the league - he scores and creates. Sam Clucas also has 8 assists - good player Sam, for those that know anything about football!
How do you create 8 assists if you only pass it backwards and sideways? 8 assists is the joint best in the league with Andre Gray. With all these backwards and sideways passes I am surprised he managed to score 6 goals. Clearly those involved in football know the value of a player like Clucas. Hence his 13th position. Whereas numpties on a football forum don't!!
The problem Clucas has, is that he was much better last year than he's been this year. Five of the six goals were last year and five of the eight assists were last year. The three assists this year were against Bristol and Charlton, where we scored ten goals and half the team got assists. His stats are very good, but if he'd maintained his form for the second half of the season, they'd be fantastic and quite frankly, he's been **** for the past two months.
You're the know nowt Clueless is ****e and I have to question the judgement of anyone who has him in the leagues top 15.
That doesn't just apply to one player though. The entire team has been ****e for the last 2 months. You are only as good as the players around you. One player cannot carry an entire team. Certainly not at this level. Idiots booing his early substitution for example don't help players improve their performance. He still has 6 goals and 8 assists - whatever period of the season he got them in is really largely irrelevant.
That's not really true, we've certainly unperformed for the past couple of months, but he's been our stand-out poorest player in at least three of the past month's games and should have been taken out of the firing line. Not that this excuses knobheads booing him, obviously.
managers voting is a strange one, as they probably only see each player twice a season when they play against there side.. unless they rely on that **** highlight show on channel 5
Makes you wonder what they do in training, most of us on here have probably played football and I never had issues myself looking for a strikers run and taking the most direct route to him like Huddlestone did even if he finessed it
You just contradicted yourself though with that comment about Meyler, be glad we have Clucas who can actually play a bit when he isn't knackered and out of form
Manager flogged him to death, don't need to be football Einstein to see that was going on from about a month or more back. Trouble is now when he puts him back in his confidence might be down
Well they obviously didn't all vote for him else he'd be top. There are what, 2 or maybe 3 decent managers at this level? Dyche, Houghton and Rowett. The rest are know nowt ****s.
The goal the other night proved he can run onto the ball like Owen, also saw him do it in another game, either back end of last year or January time, a lot of the time we don't play like that & it goes down the wings, with crosses in, he can head it, against Arsenal last season & at least one other time, but can't think of against who, but he prefers his feet, it shows when he attempts to use his feet instead of his head!
Agreed. He just needs to do that more often. There's far more games where he stands looking pissed off and doesn't compete for the ball even when it does come to him.
