Alright, I've drafted a text to this girl, here's what I wrote ... Hi [ ], I don't really expect you to care remembering and don't really expect a reply given the way I dropped off the face of the earth. Sorry about that and I'm sure you've moved on by this point. But I was thinking recently about how I enjoyed the time we spent together and how it would be good to see you again. Back when we knew each other life was quite hectic for me and I made a couple of decisions which would be different in hindsight. Not that it means much or anything to you now at this point. Anyway I hope life has been treating you well and that if, as I suspect, you simply delete this message, that it at least provides you with a laugh and conclusive evidence of my stupidity. [From me] How does that sound/look ??
Psychologically most people want to agree. Sales people know this which is why you'll see them do things like nodding when they ask you a question they want you to say yes to. You don't want to come off as haughty but I wouldn't say that you suspect they will delete your message. Say things you want them to agree with (without being too aggressive). "I hope you can forgive me", for example, will probably be more successful than "I suspect you will delete this".
Cool rewrote it and deleted the more self-effacing stuff, was trying to be humorous but it does sound a bit negative
Should probably say her name. And say who you are too, as it could be confusing if she's deleted your number (likely) when you just put "from me" at the end. .

What made it strange is I'm friends with him on Facebook where I've been advertising my house yet he cane via the estate agent still
