I assume you're talking of people paying on a match by match basis being classed as members too? If so, that would give the impression of more members than simply counting passholders. The implications of the match by match level of membership seems unclear.
There's probably 100,000 members of the Tiger Nation already, it doesn't help our attendances any, This is supposed to be about filling the ground, not about claiming our support has increased because someone got a card to go to one game and is therefore counted as a member.
I know, it's ridiculous, though I don't see how that relates to the point you were making. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying, I thought you were suggesting that getting member numbers up was good, when in fact it's utterly pointless if those members are not regularly attending games.
I was only saying that the membership scheme will have more members than the season pass scheme. I will not be joining the membership scheme for a seat, but will have to join to be able to buy a match by match day ticket. I already am registered with the club to buy away tickets etc, as are most people, I would become a member by default if nothing else.
Obviously, everyone who ever buys a ticket will technically be a member of the scheme, so there should be about 30,000 members, but it's meaningless.
I would have thought that the number of members was central, rather than meaningless, when it's a membership scheme that's being discussed.
In respect of the declared aims of the scheme, they're completely meaningless. It's active members that matter, not just the amount of people who pick up a free card.
That rather depends on how the scheme is set up. It would make a difference in the scenario offered in the OP. Also, the Club's scheme hasn't yet clarified the status of those that buy on a match by match basis.
Hay ho. It could have been an interesting discussion that helped clarify a fair amount of the scheme that nobody seems to know. I have no idea why that's a problem.
& as this 'business' is part of the service / entertainment / hospitality - industry you'd think they'd understand the importance of 'concessions' in these areas, as it's not like selling generators you know ...
You could make it 1 zone with 2 or 3 tiers of fans and it would be less complicated than 5 zones with 1 tier of fans though. Also, I'm not sure what we'd hope to sell through at the end of it as I can immediately think of a "beginning to end" system being used by a major national company right now that could easily transfer to football. Cineworld seem to manage with 4 tiers of membership (alongside various ticket prices for PAYG users giving access to different services in different locations, at different prices (as well as annual or monthly payment options), and with varying discounts in the cinema alongside discounts at external venues. It's integrated with "proper web" and phone app services, and if you book your seat in advance rather than printing it off you get sent a QR code that can be scanned at the entry to the cinema the same as we'd do with a ticket at a turnstile. They also manage to record how many films you've been to so that they can tell you how much money you saved each year, so I doubt it would take much to make that visible to staff and have it work as a loyalty scheme (they obviously don't need to as in their case loyalty is rewarded by seeing more films for your money anyway).
Stop it! You're being sensible and demonstrating a touch of your life experience. Cinema ... really ... how ridiculous.
That's interesting. It's refreshing to see a reply that's about the topic, rather than being part of some other peculiar "discussion". The cinemas have added complications with the different film ratings too.
Right, I'm going to go out on a limb here ... ... there is no point. The day ticket version is being withheld because they are clueless, the swollen numbers of the scheme will be pointless and there will have to be another meeting to understand it all - the meeting will be of FWG members, who will just turn up on the day and expect inclusion, anyone can attend, especially if they are members. Just all turn up at the club shop and an orderly crocodile will be formed to lead them to the meeting place; if enough it could be a disorderly Hokey-Cokey.
