Mail trying to unsettle the club by creating rumours? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...nger-getting-Watford-axe-turn-year-slump.html However the Pozzos are ruthless and they won't care how unpopular they might be ... Maybe they will ask Flores to play a more expansive style or ensure we get in more attack minded players?
I think this is usual story out of nothing borne from "they've had 17 managers sacked in the last year" level of reporting.
Yes - its got no quotes in and they are probably just trying to make a story out of Flores talking about his future the other week in the WO. It might be interesting to see what happens IF we made a slow start to next season but we can worry about that in August! Its not like season tickets sales will suffer and the vast majority of our support back the Pozzos/Flores. Hate to be like some of those clubs who think they ought to play like Barca or Madrid each week so go ape at the bad results.
The journalist who wrote the article is from Croydon. He is a known Plarse supporter. Personally I think the editor should be hung, draw and quartered for publishing this crap.
To be honest, there could be some truth in it. If they want to push on next season then maybe their looking to upgrade the manager. Nothing would surprise me and since January he hasn't managed to turn things around. We are lucky that the FA Cup is shielding us from the reality of very poor form in the league. And i'm beginning to wonder about his man management. That said, i don't expect miracles, and am still buzzing from this season...i just wonder if the Pozzos are thinking bigger.
The Pozzos will reinforce the squad in the close season in addition to those coming from Granada and back from loans. They will expect a more expansive style and better results from QSF. If they don't get either by October, then he'll be off - "amazing" but probably right.
I think Martinez does as well - must be a Spanish thing! I agree Flores doesn't deserve to be sacked and has done a solid job but there does seem to be a loud minority who aren't impressed by his tactics or selections) Get the feeling Sunday could be a big day for him personally..
FC Porto are reportedly not interested in signing Watford defender Miguel Layun on a permanent deal this summer. The Mexico international is currently on a season-long loan at Porto with an option to buy him for €6million. But Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola has claimed Porto are not interested in signing him permanently. Layun, who joined Watford in January 2015, initially struggled to adapt to the English game and the central midfield position he was utilised in by Slavisa Jokanovic but made 17 appearances as the Hornets won promotion from the Championship. The 27-year-old scored in Watford's 2-2 draw at Everton on the opening day of the season and made three other appearances before joining Porto at the start of September. Since he has been there he has attracted some very good reviews and has made the full back role his own. Maybe they are skint.
