showing what we already knew that we have a very strong squad, further highlighting management failings
Those calling Clucas Cluesless and slating Robertson's season need to pull their heads in. Bit surprised Hernandez didn't make it though.
If Clucas makes no 13, that goes some way to explaining the drivel we've been watching week in and week out of late. Just a personal opinion
This sums up what I said about Hernandez on another thread the other day. Scoring goals isn't the only job of a striker. He doesn't cause enough problems overall. This is why there's no chance we'd get 9/10/11 million for him.
He's more a Lineker/Owen type IMO, but getting the ball into him in those positions has been a bit of a downfall for us.
They just need to copy Huddlestones through ball for the rest of the season, god knows why you never see Livermore or Meyler just trying simple through balls like that football is an easy game but they make it seem so complicated sometimes
I know lots of peole can't stand him (arrogant etc) but can't help thinking we missed out on Barton, could have given us some backbone in midfield.
Clucas, probably the best value player we signed this season. 37 League appearances 6 goals 8 assists 81.2% passing success 4 MOTM awards and an average 7.19 rating per game. Opinions don't matter, stats tell you everything - He's been a great signing.
I think we've got four better central midfielders than him. It's interesting to see Clucas in this list. I value the views of other managers highly. I think I might have missed a lot of his better games. He's never struck me as one of the stand out players in a game but he doesn't deserve the stick he gets either. He reminds me a lot of Garcia in that sense. I'm not surprised to see Robbo and Dawson up there but surprised at the lack of Odubajo who I think has probably been our player of the season.
Maybe Lineker (although he was before my time) but Owen was brilliant at making runs and that's Hernandez's glaring weakness. I think in the modern game in this country teams can't afford a striker who's just a finisher when the rest of the team set him up. Look at how simple Vardy makes it. Run a lot, run fast, run smart and ****ing bury it when you get the chance. All the top strikers have that great movement.
