I think if he is cleared it leaves the way open for compensation and also obviously his name is cleared. If he is found guilty again he has already served his time not sure if they can increase/decrease the sentence - so we need a legal eagle on here
He was tipped to be great, but never really made it. He was at Sheff United in L1 when he got busted I think. Average. City academy if I'm not mistaken.
think it was quashed due to new evidence, the re-trial must be all the same stuff and the new evidence? Like it was said, if he is still found guilty he will have served his time, but if found innocent then i would imagine his name will be cleared.
The new evidence doesn't prove he is innocent, it simply brings fresh doubt to whether or not he is guilty. So he isn't cleared of the crime, but he will have a re-trial. He's already served his time so he won't be going back to prison even if found guilty again. This is for his own dignity and obviously to get his criminal record wiped.
