I understand why Cisse played vs City. Cisse was more difficult for City defence to handle, where as Mitrovic wouldn't be too much trouble for Kompany.

But I think the likes of Sakho and Toure would find Mitrovic far more difficult to handle. I'd go with Mitrovic in this game.

Ye. Janmaat? never again. He can **** off, unless he reinvents himself as a left back. Anita all day for me. Far superior right back. Just look at Anitas tactical fouls. When he makes them he really has to. Where as Janmaat tends to get booked on 20 min near the opposition box. Anita last two games made crucial tactical fouls for the team after Perez or someone gave it away in a dangerous area. That's exactly what you want a fullback to do. Not stupidly get booked trying to lung into a defender in the opposition box.

Only other thought would be De Jong instead of Perez.

But Anita has earned the right to be first choice right back.

Hope Rafa sticks with Anita at RB. He has done really well and actually makes Janmaat look even worse than he is. Even if Janmaat is fit l wouldn't Change a winning formula.
We had a reasonable bench with Mitro, Gini, Shelvey and Aaron's. So stick with the current formation and switch out in response to what is happening with the match.

 

With Origi injured Studge will have to start, we will rotate all over though.

 

Perez up top with Wijnaldum left side. Perez is too wasteful and I think a busy, tricky striker could upset Liverpool. Cisse is half a player unfortunately. Otherwise same again please.

 

Tbh best we can hope for is our goal difference not take a beating. Right now our goal difference is roughly the same with Norwich is we win another match, but if we conceed 4 or 6 here...

 

Janmaat can **** off, the lazy, arrogant, wall-punching knobend. Anita on Tuesday did more in one game than he's done all season.

And much as we all love our Mitro, I'd still start with Cisse, as he's more the out and out goal scorer, and bring Mitro on 2nd half if Cisse hasn't done anything. Rafa appears to have a bit of a reluctance to play De Jong, which is a shame cos he'd make a big difference right now. Perez had an off day vs Man City, and De Jong should be tried.

 

Anyone else notice the irony in the more defence minded Anita scoring the other night which is something our much more attack minded Janmaat has failed to do with the regularity that his positioning on the pitch would suggest should be the case.

 

I'm quietly confident vs Liverpool, be interesting to see how they line up, just played a high energy Mersey side derby and have the semi Finals of Europa on Thursday following our game. See the squad they took to Bournemouth last weekend below - I know they thumped Bournemouth but they aren't fighting for anything anymore, comfortably safe and no threat of qualifying for Europe.
